OK we have 356 registered, just the same as last year -- let's now hope for last year's good breeze.

In...... I'll likely develop a logical strategy based on wind / tide forecast and it will surely be torn up minutes before the start as I come up with a whole new game plan.

Time was that certain SA'ers would organize SA divisions with bottles of rum as prizes. Given my now-lofty status, I don't think I can, and the former organizers were flicked. Anyone want to step up?

Predict-wind showing a bit better forecast, more like 10 plus or minus. Which might be enough to deal with the current!

If you sail, be sure to attend the pre and post race events at OYC, they're a real hoot, and you wont find a friendlier club on the planet than SSS
The Skippers' Meeting is tonight at 1930 - OYC in Alameda. Kame is talking about current for the race (yes, we'll have current), revisions to the SI's will be discussed, plus other general messing about. Don't miss it!

(How about a prize for the oldest 3BF shirt? No car rags - you have to be wearing it!)

...is shaping up to be a fiasco. Forecast breeze pretty much = or less than opposing tidal current around the whole course. Pity it couldn't have been on a more favorable tide.

breeze yesterday and today. noaa has gone from 0-5 to now calling 10 out of the north...remaining hopeful with bailout plan and outboard at the ready

If you're drifting around after the start, you might not want to do it in front of Pier 35. A cruise ship is scheduled to arrive there at 1030 - about 50 minutes after the Moores start. The AURORA, 886 feet and 4-5 stories high . . .

yeah, I'm guessing we'll see a lot of retirements due to the need to power up and get out of there.

Have your anchors handy - they can be a great tactical weapon.
