Nuthin’. The Good Wife and I love little more than live music but:

A) Ticketmaster can get burnt to the ground, blown up, have all the little bits stomped on, and then thrown in the nearest volcano. What a miserable, f’ed up way to do business.

2) All the vain 20-30somethings who go to shows to vape and have loud, drawn-out conversations about who met who at some bar the other day can go f@%* themselves.

iii) Pot is legal in this neck of the woods, but not federally. I have professional licenses and a random drug test, and would be a risk of embarrassing explanations should concerts be indulged too often (did get hit once the day after a show. Usually come up once or twice a year, but somehow I came up again the next week. Nothing else came of it but still, huh). Being drug tested since age 17 I’ve never even held let alone smoked anything, but each their own…. Wish that situation could get resolved sometime.

Good bands don’t come around here (Maine) often, as we’re a small market and the summer show season is short. When they do, if one does not have a finger on the trigger the moment tickets come on sale one is generally SOL. Also, and I know bands need live shows to make money and I’m fine with that, but someone came up (I forget who now) we wanted to see, and tickets started at $280 each. Ouch.

We don't like going to really big shows, instead preferring to see interesting acts in smaller venues.

Only two on the list right now, but that could change as new shows are announced.

Penny and Sparrow in a few weeks:

And one of our favorite live acts (but not until April, unfortunately) The Lone Bellow:
We just saw Lone Bellow a couple of weeks ago in an all acoustic set, no band, just the the three of them and it was amazing.

And tomorrow night MLB baseball Atlanta Braves (yay!) vs. NL East rivals Mets (boo!)

Also nuthin ... for similar reasons
Last big concert show I went to was LIttle Feat in Va Beach a year ago...
I might go see Joe Bonamassa one more time but depends on ticket price and venue....

glad I got to see all the really cool bands back in the 60s and 70s... and go to their resurrection shows in later years... not too many left I really wanna see. The cost/value ratio just isn't there for me any more. some pretty cool local live venues and house concerts have kept me entertained in the last few years...

I have enough memories stacked up to replay to last me a while

Last month we went to see the “Music of The Rolling Stones” at the Pacific Symphony. It was excellent! The first part was the symphony doing several 60’s/70’s iconic songs and then symphony backing a Stones cover band for the second half. My favorite moment was when the conductor turned to the audience between songs and said “and now……something I never imagined I would say when studying at the Music Conservatory……….here is a little something from Led Zeppelin.”

It was superb!

Also planning to see Lyle Lovett and his large band at Symphony Hall this fall. I've loved his music for damn near 30 years and have never seen him live. We're all getting old, so it's time.

Last Friday evening in Lashley Park, Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder.

They are real good at what they do but I'm not that fond of what they do. My attendance promoted family harmony.

You’re a good person to lean into it but…..after 70 years of the dramas associated with family harmony….I’ve concluded it’s overrated. Mrs PB often quotes the old saying, you can pick your friends but you’re stuck with your family.
