No it's because I wasn't. Not really. They broke the rudder pin and the replacement was a bit sloopy. They also were pretty beat up by the conditions and were probably happy to retire. They went in at Marathon.

I never broke a pin on the Elliott, but in the brooklyn ocean race we had so much torque on the new rudder due to about 70 miles of close reaching, the epoxy finish all cracked along the leading edge of the head. We decided to reinforce the head with some more carbon and put beefier gudgeons on the transom.
Hope they get the boat sorted quickly.
