In some ways, you can see why with everyone lining up like a lynch mob. He may have brought it upon himself with all of his claims but I'm not sure I'd want to be the side show either.

On the other hand, to take it all in stride with a great amount of humor, just showing up would go a long way to getting even the slightest bit of credit.

That being said, if he doesn't show, I still think he should fade away.

I have raced C Scows and MC Scows and have hit lasers hard along with some bad E Scow sailing thrown in besides a variety of crewing explots as a kid. I would show up just for the chance to sail a 49er around a course for free swag. If I failed, I would just join the party and try to figure out what went wrong!

Of course I doubt I would ever question so hard the people that are racing the stuff to get myself in that spot to begin with!

Glad I finally hit the pond Sunday, makes talking about sailing a little easier. Just got the little MC in, made up a little for failing to make it to Florida to race in a eighty boat fleet over the weekend.

Budget is very very tight - maybe you could enter anyway, then we would have more cash for your fund?
