It's the delay from the server then.  Sometimes it's busy and feeds slow for the images.  Low priority.  Other times it loads immediately.

It's your website.

Mine loads quick, but then I am way closer to Tom than most of you.
I think the server is actually in Nebraska or someplace.

Could be. My wife is a web designer and puts my sites on a bit of the space she has for her paying customers. Since they're paying and I'm playing, I hope they are somehow prioritized.

That's a bit sly Tom.  'Vampiring' from her customers without their knowledge.
Well, no, she rents a shitton of server space and rents some out. If I use some of the rest, that has no effect on her customers. She also uses some of the rest, which also has no effect on customers. They pay for hosting and get it and what happens to the rest of the space that they're not paying for is none of their business.

I got 16 new pics of the bobcat in the past few nights.

I'll only slow random's browser down with what I think is the best one:

Great shot Tom. He/she seems very comfortable in your backyard.
My dad used to joke that he wanted to be reincarnated as one of my dogs. I think being a bobcat that lives here would be at least as good. There are abundant bunnies and squirrels and birds and places to hide.

That hawk eating the squirrel sure looked like an owl....

Owls/ Redtailed hawks have decimated my Guinea fowl population in the last month..... Word is there's either a Bobcat, or Panther in the area too...... But I haven't seen any signs of big kitties....

Yes, he used to kill and eat some, mostly birds.

Could be, I guess, but I've only seen owls right at dusk. My neighbor has guinea fowl and they wander all over everyone's property. I saw four of them yesterday. There are lots of hawks and at least one bobcat and a coyote but they seem to do OK.

Guineas are pretty ferocious birds. Kinda like miniature Cassowaries. I have stitch marks on my right hand after trying to convince one to do something it didn't want to do (Come into the coop at night). I've seen my Guineas attack roving neighbor dogs who got a little too nosy.... They got cut too. But when an owl comes in from behind, no one hears nothing until the fat lady sings, and by then, it's all over. And yes Barred owls hunt all day long, but their usual prey is out at night.

One of the neighborhood squirrels has learned where I hang bananas after I cut them from the tree and is bold enough to brave the cats and dogs to steal them.

I hope it was this one:

At least, I think that's a squirrel under the hawk. There's something furry and that looks like a squirrel tail on the right side of the bird. A cropped in view:

That wasn't the banana-stealing squirrel but the thief got a bit too bold this morning and I had my air rifle handy and that was the end of that problem.

Here ya go random, only 38 KB.

That's the end of the chicken run extension that I made out of old pontoon boat railings. I added the full size version to the link in post 87 above.

Poor Squirrel, why don't you share your bananas?  We share our grass with the Roos.

When the bandicoots ate my tomatoes all I did was electrify the fence.  Non-lethal.  But then I am not a gun nut.

Been watching Tom, and I think that the cat will eventually get those chickens.  She's just working it out, waiting for you to make a mistake.

I don't enjoy killing squirrels but this little fucker wouldn't share with me. Knocked off or gnawed into every one just before it was ripe enough for me. Also was starting to view my little house as home and not a danger zone. It's a nightmare if they find a way to colonize a structure.

Fortunately, most think my dogs and cats are a lot scarier than they really are and stay away.

I would not bet against you on that, mostly because I leave that run extension attached at night. It's light enough that I'm pretty sure a bobcat could just lift it and squeeze under. It would then have to find a way into the coop, which I almost always remember to close and lock at night. Almost...

I went to feed the cats and dogs and came across this scene just now. That's a squirrel highlighted in red.

TrappedSquirrel.jpg

Kailey the cowdog is already looking at other parts of the yard that need defending but Libby is unlikely to lose interest and is endlessly circling the hibiscus bush and staring at the trapped squirrel. I decided to wait a bit before calling her for food to make sure the squirrel has an unpleasant memory. If it learns this morning's lesson it will never learn the one about humans with air rifles.
