I am curious how this new Lombard/Shipman design will work.

Look at the underwater shape of the bow...

Which tris are going? AFAIK Gitana and Sodebo are in, Macif is not as Gabart is going for the solo RTW, banque pop didn't launch in time, Spindrift got excluded due to politics...

Who else? Is Joyon racing? What about the old Sodebo (I think it is Actual now?)

Yep.  There are dimension rules in force to prevent a scow bow
In this interview with Lombard on the design of the 150, he seems to think a Pogo3 or Ofcet bow would fit within the rules, but avoided it for cosmetic and slamming reasons.

Edit: I see there is an editors note in the V&V article LeoV shared indicating that those semi-scow bows are indeed outside the rules.

Curious to see if the new Verdier and Manuard (151 and 152) class 40 have similar bows.

I am personally calling the scow bows Raisonettes, in honour of the designer :)

They start at exactly the same time ?

But the start of the Jacques Vabre is le Havre, really quite a way compared to Lisbon ...

I would say no chance at all

No Joyon, either... just the trio of Gitana, Sodebo, & Prince de Bretagne.  Super light air would be the only shot for the super ORMA.  Heavy seas would possibly benefit Sodebo.  And reasonable wind and seas would likely see Gitana lap the field.  Really too bad Idec, Spindrift, Macif, & the new BP aren't racing.

Old Sodebo is indeed the new Actual, in standby for a round the world going west  with Yves le Blevec.

Best prepared of the Class 40 fleet. My favourite for this class.
