—a complete ban in Florida proposed on health insurance coverage against all “gender clinical interventions”—which includes banning birth control, hormone treatment for menopause, for breast cancer, anti-androgen treatments for prostate cancer, for PCOS—all while banning transgender hormone treatment. Ron DeSantis’s Florida GOP govt is throwing doctors and all sick patients requiring hormone therapies completely under the bus!

Why would anyone know that a coworker was gay and why would they be fired for being gay?
Perhaps they were not a productive employee of had workplace performance issues?
Fitting into any workplace is a two way relationship with most of the burden on the employee.

Marriage licenses allow death benefits to go to loved ones, permit civil contracts be entered into as a couple, allow the spouse to have decision making capacity when the other is incapacitated, make filing taxes jointly possible which can lead to financial benefits, and are associated with more stable families. There are inheritance laws and other systems which families make use of to accrue wealth over generations.

Depriving people freely entering into marriage contracts of these benefits shouldn’t be the function of a democratic government.

Though it should seem obvious, it is worth restating that just because something is new or unfamiliar to you does not mean that it is necessarily novel or invented, and just because you don't understand something does not make it wrong or sinful. This needs to be restated because some people, including some church leaders, cannot seem to remember this before they act in harmful ways.

The other bill signed into law by Reynolds was Senate File 482, which is an act "prohibiting persons from entering single and multiple occupancy restrooms or changing areas and other facilities in elementary and secondary schools that do not correspond with the person's biological sex."
