Shades of Renee Richards..............this will be a growing and interesting dilemma for sports going forward. Will DNA testing of olympic athletes be allowed to determine appropriate gender for competition or will external genitalia be the test. Perhaps it will be how they "self identify". Maybe they will eliminate gender prejudice in sports and just have a single competition made up of "humans" without regard to gender.

Most female State Champions and Runners Up get athletic scholarships which can be worth $100K++.  I suspect many of the parents whose daughters which were born with female bodies and just missed out on getting their full ride will be none too happy.  With this kind of financial incentive I suspect there will be quite a few more females born in male bodies participating in female only high school sports.   I also suspect that before this gets ironed out, there will be quite a few attorneys making quite a bit of money.

There is a really bright side to this though. One of these days there's going to be a giant push to change every database on the planet to stop recording gender as M/F as it has been done for decades.

I can see that there's going to be *real* money to be made in doing the changes...... in fact I may suggest it as a mandatory upgrade that isn't covered by existing maintenance. Who knows, could be a real winner and demonstrate social awareness at the same time.

Remember, if you're not part of the solution, there can be really serious money made in prolonging the problem.

Had our annual on-line application to tell management how we think they are doing yesterday  (must be doing better because when things really suck, they don't do the survey).

At the end, they had  modified the questions regarding which sex you consider yourself to male, female, lesbian, gay, and transvestite. 

And then they asked which way you bat.  straight, gay, transvestite.  You could even check all the boxes if you were a switch hitter/player.

Luckily you could check No Comment.

So far no check box for animals or aliens...
