I've seen the photo of the mast sticking out of the water. Can't be very deep. Water level was below the spreaders

From what my wife could hear after the collision, it was along the lines of, "Anyone hurt?" "No injuries?"

Looks like if they could keep sailing the boat would sink, or at least not sink quickly.

There was an incident one Admiral's Cup between Mandrake and Por-Motion where Mandrake T-boned the other and actually had to stuff a spinnaker bag in the hole to stop them sinking while the other boat almost sank. Perhaps a sail stuffed in the gap would have saved the boat (perhaps not)
