The steering currents are week. The shear will stay in place for another 24 hours or so but after that the cyclone is back under more favorable conditions so the pace of weakening should slow down. Again, this is primarily a fish storm. The Baja and So Cal could see some high streaming clouds over the next few days but the lower atmosphere is dry so precipitation making it to the ground is unlikely.

The for runners of the swell from Amanda are hitting the south facing SoCal beaches this morning. Much smaller than expected. Head high and a little inconsistent at Trestles and Churches. To much south direction for good long shoulders.

Amanda needs to hang a left, strengthen and sit still a while.

That is unlikely to happen. She has churned away the surface max temps and is doomed to a slow wind down as she wanders to the [email protected] and then loops back on herself. Much like girlfriends in high school...they are there for a relatively short period of time but don't worry...there will be others....

Yups. This fuker went right over the top of our mast while we were moored in La Paz. Very un-fun, to say the least. Especially for the locals.....
