Can someone explain in short simple words why the base gets so hot and bothered by transgendered people? I know why the demagogues do it, they get money and voters from the hot and bothered base, even though they don't give a shit.

But really, are the deplorables so sheltered and bigoted and lacking in simple live-and-let-liveness that they get all twisted and puffy about someone else's sexual identity?

I think it makes sense for her to announce first. Getting all of Trump's abuse will only gain her sympathy. No one notices if you are the seventh to announce. Wonder how many challengers emerge and from what parts of the GOP spectrum?
