I don't think anyone can beat Trump in the primaries and I think he has a good chance of reclaiming the presidency. All of the investigations have kept him in the limelight and given him exactly the type of publicity he thrives on and his base eats up. There are plenty of republicans beyond his base that will hold their nose and vote for him. I didn't think he had a chance in hell in 2016. He made me a believer. IMO, It is hubris to think otherwise.
Do you really think so?

I agree that we all underestimated Trump in 2016. That's because most of us saw through the bluster to see what a small, weak guy he actually is. But he connected with a certain segment of the population who believed the bluster.

After he was elected Trump's epic incompetence was been revealed. Let's review:
  • Dems crushed the 2018 mid terms,
  • Dems won the senate, house and oval in the 2020 general
  • Dems did much better in the 2022 mid terms than any oval-holder in living memory, and this during a time of historic inflation
Following Trump's surprise 2016 victory, team R has suffered loss after loss. Trump is a loser and the R's won't win another election until they shed themselves of at least Trump, if not Trumpism in general.

There is at least a small group of Republicans that have figured it out, to some extent. For example, the anti-Brownback wing of Kansas Republicans. The GOP was surprised that no bazillionaires moved to Kansas when they reversed the tax rates.
Kansas could actually turn purple based on recent election trends.

Florida will be Alabama before too long. Everyone knows it including Ron, because he set up the corrupt system that has taken over the state and we all saw what corruption does to government efficiency with Trump and COVID-19 and Putin and the Ukraine war. It's a problem as old as the first dictatorship.

Ron has to run now, because 5 years is way too much time for his shit to be exposed. That's which is why he'll run despite the high likelihood of being turned into pudding by the Trump ecosystem.

Ron is Harvard/Yale/Marines, and it's clear to all he has the charisma of a dog toy. He can only run on results, and the only results he has are a teacher shortage, an insurance collapse, and 20 million in legal fees spent losing all those constitutional law challenges. His entire campaign is "nO WOkE" and "I won Florida by 20 points". That's it.

He has no skillset from which to deal with the chaotic and illogical power of trumpworld, and only the grieved like him at all.

Most of the leadership knows this, and their problem is quite hilarious: They've turned themselves into the party of those who refuse to believe in anything but fairies and bullshit. Their voters literally won't believe any of the party stalwarts anymore. Say anything negative about Trump and they'll show up outside of your house with pitchforks and RINO signs.

Remember: In voluntary elections, who turns out decides the elections. As long as under 35s keep overparticipating and old independents keep underparticipating, republicans are fucked, at least in national elections and everywhere that didn't vote trump+25 or higher.
Let's not forget that Trump killed off a significant number of R voters by telling them not to wear masks and not to get vaxxed.

So, he loses and he gets to swallow that. Let's hope so.

Shocking that young democRATS wouldn’t turn out for Charlie Crist against Lil Puddin.

Most of what Lil Puddin does is for distraction. Associated Industries owns Tallahassee, along with a handful of other lobbying groups for the Best Floridians. Puddin‘s job is to keep the masses divided.

It's not just that he will lose. It's that he will be endlessly cucked along the way in that oh-so memorable style Trump has, and he will never win back the Trump superfans, which is something like 30% of the GOP.
It'll be fun to watch him deal with the fallout in Florida.

I did like the news that Disney is hosting a big gay rights/LGBTQ+ conference in September, mainly as a "Fuck You" to the Governor. He may regret that pissing match.

I would agree he will carry the Republican vote. Clearly, they'll vote for a pile of horseshit, as long as the Liberals have to smell it.

I am curious how the Independents will go. My sense is there were enough of them in 2016 to give crazy a chance. Now that they know what he is capable of doing (rage-Tweeting and golfing), will they make the same mistake?

Finally, will the Democrats turn out the vote?
depends how 'iNdEpEnDeNt' they are.
'independents' are reich-wing towel boys.

Indeed. Go after the drag shows and get everyone distracted from things like his fix for the insurance issue...protecting insurance company profits at the cost of the average person

In the left corner it's Uncle Joe unless he has a health issue (same for Trump, actually) and if he does, it's Gavin.

I good with Biden and if he can’t then Gavin.

Hate to say it, but he'll get crucified in the primaries.

If not, Joe, Stacey Abrams, or Elizabeth Warren would be a better bet.

Amy Klobuchar will rip him up one side and down the other in a debate. Gavie doesn't respond well to being challenged - lets just say Porky Pig would be far more eleoquent.

Sorry, the boy has never had to work for it. He should go after Fienstien's seat.

Mayor Pete would make an excellent POTUS! Unfortunately I fear there are still too many ignorant voters who are afraid of gays....
