pushing Ukraine to be more efficient and not, for example, fire a missile that costs $150,000 at a drone that costs $20,000.
Because it's all about the relative $ cost of opposing weaponry isn't it. Nothing to do with preventing the death and damage associated with allowing a cheap drone to provide targeting information for artillery and missiles.

$40,000 a piece is inexpensive. How many would they fire/day?
Be a wee bit more than that. Have to mate the rocket to the GBU to make a GLSDB.

The thing they need is the next generation GBU, which can hit moving targets. Be nice to get those supply trains when they are away from civis in stations. But those are a quarter mil a pop.

The quote Hobie provided reminded me of McNamara and his application of business metrics to warfare. Ukraine is doing well, let’s make them copy our Vietnam strategy.

Wet coast.
Then somebody worse could take over, like Prigozhin.
It would buy some time while Progozhin is distracted by consolidating power in Russia - enough time to get Ukraine into NATO. The question is whether Ukraine can get back their territory before Putin is taken out. If not, things will get very confusing.

Simoniyan’s comments here are quite telling— effectively, it’s an admission that she’s aware the Russian military is committing war crimes.

What she is saying is that Russia should destroy the entire world before allowing their leadership to be tried for war crimes. Hope that the people in command of their nuclear arsenal have clearer heads.

I wonder if Putin has his succession arranged beforehand. A good dictator never does.
Now the whole country is build on supporting him. If he dies for whatever reason, or more unlikely steps back, they will be confused who to support for weeks.

Insight how it works in Russia;

They are the wheels allowing Putin’s political regime to function and stay in power: A school principal who forces teachers — serving on electoral commissions — to falsify election results; a factory director who encourages his employees to vote for the “right” candidates and organizes meetings; a university rector who spreads regime propaganda or expels students with dissenting opinions, and on it goes.

I'm not really understanding why Ukraine is not being offered training now on sophisticated weapons, they don't have yet. This war could go on a long time, and Ukraine could be a NATO member someday. Jens Stoltenberg said as much the other day. Either way, if it takes a year to learn to drive a Tiger, the time to start is now. Apparently it only takes six weeks to switch from flying Soviet helicopters to Sea Kings.

I don't believe Natasha says that - Fat Boy Sergey is the one who implies the whole world will become ash if they lose Crimea.

What Natasha is saying is that the Rooskie leadership is acting as if they are afraid of the Hague as they haven't escalated things to her liking. Then she goes on to say she spits on the Hague, as should the rest of the Russian leadership.

And from their position she is correct. They shouldn't care about war crime charges because it is highly unlikely they would ever see the inside of a courtroom in the Hague - provided they never step foot outside Russia. The ICC won't try a defendant in absentia.

How do you know that? From what I have seen, there is a lot of training going on all over the world, and they don't want to shout it out, for good reason. Many things have happened recently that show training has been in progress for months. I wouldn't be surprised that Ukrainian pilots are already trained on other platforms, such as the F16. Many of the trainers have been surprised how quickly the Ukrainians have progressed.
