Russians are moaning about the fact that Ukraine would have received 'new missiles' for HIMARS launchers to strike as far as 140km deep into their territory.

Melitopol was hit, 75-80km from the front. And Himar's will not be placed in danger near the front.
So far for the new software...

Good entertainment? JohnStewart's show could be pretty funny on occasion.

Show me one instance where Carlson has said anything remotely funny...intentionally.
Comparing these guys in any way is beyond ridiculous. One of them is an amoral propagandist willing to influence people to die by pretending there is no COViD and the other made fun of liars and presented tragic ironic realities perpetrated by grifting self absorbed narcissists.

that last sentence is a work of art by the way and regardless of whether the heathens running this site sell it to creativeless toads you heard it here first!

I say rumors.
The only way Germany will send Leopard tanks in the first place is if other western tanks get send as well.
The other problem is that there are not many Leopard 2 left. Bundeswehr has ~300 total and industry stocks are also low. Most of what industry had was traded for T72 that went to Ukraine.

What would have made a lot of sense was to restore and send industry stocks of Leopard 1. One company has 100 in dry storage, the other 80. AFAIK most of them are the final Danish variant, bought back when Denmark switched to Leopard 2.
The official main argument against that at the time was that absolutely nobody wanted to sell 105mm ammo for use in Ukraine. And I mean nobody. Not one nation in NATO still using the L7 cannon, not Brasil, not Israel - not even the Chinese who use their own clone of the cannon.

They are not the greatest but certainly better than the old stuff Russia is pulling from depots. Unlike Sowjet designs they are also really quick, with more instantaneous acceleration than most modern designs. Combined with good communication and reconnaissance (drones?) a nasty ambush weapon. Just don't try to kill a T72 or later directly from the front, that won't work unless the crew gets really lucky and hits a weak point on the turret.
There are also a lot (300?+ combined) of the other Leopard 1 variants left in industry storage. Bridge layer, armored recovery vehicle, combat engineering. Together with the Gepard SPAAG that makes a nice bundle of vehicles that share a lot of spare parts and maintenance tooling & training. -Almost as if somebody thought about that when designing them- But that would make sense, and that is obviously not allowed in German politics...

I can't wish the Russians well, but that guy seems to be actually interested in the welfare of his men. I do not know if it is a fact or not, but the notion that the Russians are using flak jackets and helmets intended for paintball-seems plausible. It's crazy that the Russian army lacks proper winter gear, some of them seem to be wearing rubber boots in a climate where it can be twenty below.

And it’s getting much colder before it gets any warmer. From a fellow human perspective I have much empathy for those guys, especially as many were conscripted with no notice and minimal if any training. And next stop: the front, with shitty or no weapons and crap logistics and leadership. I can’t even imagine.

It's a sad thing if anyone rejoices in the destruction of Masterpieces.

The Pushkin holds iconic work from European painters such as Rembrandt, Cezanne, Degas and Vincent Van Gogh.

In March 2022, the museum's deputy director Vladimir Opredelenov resigned to protest against Russia's invasion of Ukraine
