Japan was at war with world made very little difference what was happening in Manchuria same will apply here when China has to chose between every western market and following Putin’s wargasm to hell. Russia learned a very painful and expensive lesson early on how easy it is to down their planes. There are good reasons the US military is under civilian control.

Tell that to all the 1000s on 1000s of Ukrainians being slaughtered in pootin's scorched earth policy. I doubt they would appreciate the bargain they are paying for.

Imagine, if we had taken the same mindset in WWII and just sent arms to the UK and Russia and let them all kill each other and sat on the sidelines nice and safe. Oh wait..... we did exactly that. How did that work out for us?? We got drawn in anyway to a World War that ended up with millions of dead combatants, even more civilians and 6 million Jews in the ovens. Had we put a stop to Hitler early before he gained ground, as our allies were begging us to do - there might have been a more favorable outcome. Sure we could "What if" this all day long.

But there are times when the moral thing to do is the right thing.
