Hope this goes ok I was an M1a2 crewman for two tours in Iraq. They breakdown a lot, they are heavy get stuck really easy, and that Far East the roads are narrow. Hopefully they will have the full support of general dynamics and not left hanging without all the civilian oversight.

The Russians buy a lot of cheap Chinese shit like we do. The Chinese probably view the Russians as just another brand of Euro...but one which has gas and oil to trade for it...and one with an intriguing market-size potential somewhere in the future. It's a big fuckin' place with lots of room for an expanding population if even half of all that tundra/taiga thaws, and the Chinese pride themselves on long-term strategic thinking, as in across generations and centuries.

Unless it's the arms business, businessmen want stability and prosperity. The sanctions are a PITA, so re-creating the old cold war blocs (as Putin suggested) didn't appeal.

The problem with depleted uranium is that it leaves a horrible cloud, that settles into toxic dust. Yes it rips the shit out of enemy armor. It makes the NATO and UKR anti-armor weapons much more effective.

But the Ukrainians will have to live there, will be stuck with cleaning it up. Maybe after Chernobyl, they ain't scared. Maybe they feel it's more important to shred the Russian Army first and worry about afterwards, afterwards.

A-10's and attack helos only work when air superiority is established. That will not happen in Ukraine, and the pilots would pay a huge price. It is likely the reason it hasn't happened so far.

Last night, the terrorist Russian state attacked Ukraine with Iranian-made Shahed drones. 16 were shot down by Ukraine's air defenders. As a result of the russian attack, three civilians were killed and seven were injured in Kyiv region. Still targeting civilian buildings.

So Xi's visit did not include a warning to Russia not to hit civilians. He is fine with that.
