Sure. If you want to make shit more complicated, but why wouldn't the Ukrainians just knock it out themselves? Like they did. It's a very, very simple thing that they Ukrainians did.

Hard to believe that Americans do not believe what their President tells them.

He said it, you, with no other evidence say otherwise.

Because the Military has a pilot shortage as it is. And I guess it's more cost effective to have a private company do this full time rather than the USAF/Navy do it on the side. I've fought against the Draken guys and their predecessors. They are good and provide excellent training.

Wondering if it helps keep the exercises "pure" with the adversarial role more fully firewalled?

Yea but he military promotes flyers to paper shufflers. Others become RC pilots, couldnt that be done by disabled or otherwise not fit for service people?

FYI, another key reason for contract aggressors is that it allows many pilots that have had enough real action to leave active duty but then "stay in the game" as contactors. They are no longer subject to deployment etc., but have the experience that makes them good at what needs to be done in a training setting.
And more importantly, Low turnover and great continuity.

I don't know all the details obviously. But from reports I've been hearing, the "offensive" has been concentrated at the areas that rooshia seems most heavily dug in around Zaphoriza and Bahkmut. I'm not sure why you would throw your main thrust into the meat grinder when you're already limited on troops and weapons #s. Better to go where they are not.

Maybe it's a feint to get the rooskies to commit troops to those points when the real thrust is going to hit somewhere else. Hopefully the Ukes are going to an end run around the Maginot line and catch them napping.

Another possibility is they want to test the morale of the regular Russian forces by going right at them for a bit. There is a distinct possibility that's so low they, under just a bit of pressure, just might up and R-U-N-N-O-F-T.
