hmmm . . . I just did a simple search "BBC Kherson" (past week stories) just to read whatever you might be seeing . . . and got Ukraine war: Stories of torture emerging out of Kherson as the top stories (text and video reports). So, idk, but it does not sound so 'happy'.
It may have been DW. May look try look it up later, definitely saw it. Some they interviewed were in Kherson and ambivalent about wth will happen in the rest of the country so long as they can continue to hold their local values intact. Ru has kept the water running, the lights on, business is pretty much running as normal and kids are in school, soccer leagues included.

Does the war still suck? Well obviously, it's f'ing horrific in some areas.

I don’t recall either reading or posting anything on those lines. Unlikely I would as it would as it does not represent my views.

oops, yes I do refer to you sometimes as DW. In this case I meant Deutsche Welle (DW)

I do not have a link to the exact report I saw, that included from inside Kherson. If people are taking huge exception to it, then I guess I could look through all my YT history tabs to try find it but am reluctant to spend the effort since it's unlikely to alter any minds anyway.

I made the point to consider from that report taken from on the ground there, take it as you will. They want local autonomy.

This is the N time Stingray tells stories of journalists from unknown source, without link or say it was on the radio.
Do not why he stretches his conclusions from; civilians are happy that their city is spared the destruction to the civilians are happy with the occupation. It is hogwash. Tankist stuff. Credibility zero.

"THE AERIAL WEAPONS HELPING UKRAINE" Included is the Hawk and implies it's already in ops.

And Salisbury Karma. These UKR soldiers were doing this training three months ago and the equipment was already in Poland (or nearby) then.

Those are both behind paywall, but I wouldn't be surprised if the second was similar to this video report on such training

Putin: "We don't have the problems with Finland and Sweden that we have with Ukraine. If you want to join NATO, you are welcome. But once they join the alliance, there will be some tension in our relations". Medusa, yesterday evening.

So, again, NATO expansion is not the problem if he can not send in the military like in Ukraine. He must have gnashing his teeth when he said this.
This with the US announcement of a US base to be built in Poland and 300.000 ready troops must be hard to digest. He just made NATO a bigger worry for him.

Let's not forget crippling his economy, alienating Russia from the rest of the world (bar 5 other pariahs) and pissing off all his oligarch mates who cannot now enjoy their wealth in London, the Med etc but who are confined to a country whether there is nothing left to spend money on

Nothing to do with the fact that Ukraine now has artillery that can reach and has repeatedly destroyed anything Ru put on the island. Complete coincidence

Russian goodwill= we are defeated.

One Russian source (Rybar, Kotenok) claims the positioning of French Caesars near Odessa worried them enough.
The Caesars with high explosives, basebleed and proximity fuses are destructive for this kind of targets.

The Duma is changing the law that conscripts can now convert directly to contract service immediately upon being drafted, instead of waiting 3-4 months to go through basic training (i.e., allowing conscripts be legally eligible to fight in Ukraine immediately)

Intel is hard to get, but it looks like the conscript draft period of April to 15 July are not going well.

My first thought was that they will fill their quote because with the Ru economy tanking and inflation high, families will take every bit of cash they can find. However on checking I found that Ru unemployment has fallen (link) even though the economy is shrinking. Bit of a surprise but that will make it harder to fill their quotas, and even harder to persuade conscripts to switch to contracts.
Though of course the full impact of this won't be felt for a while- its only those troops they persuade to sign contracts and go to Ukr without finishing training that will impact soon
