Russia has armament factories that turn out 20 million artillery rounds per year

The US can only produce 15 thousand artillery rounds per month
Guys......dont even bother responding to this nonsense.

It is completely fabricated.

The US shifted its armament emphasis from unguided munitions (aka artillery rounds) to precision munitions over a decade ago. Ukrainian generals do not give a damn how many bolt action rifles Russia can make or how many bullets and bayonets they make. But if they did care and if they cared about the facts, one US contractor alone has a retainer providing that they will maintain a manufacturing capability 80,000 unguided artillery rounds a month = 960,000 per year.
Remember, the annual defense budget of the US and its NATO allies is USD 1,200 billion vs the Russian defense budget of $77 bn.
The disparity is absurd.

Even if you can produce the Russians will destroy your supply lines immediately
Okay.......so now you acknowledge that NATO can produce the munitions but Russia will "immediately" destroy the supply lines that they havent destroyed after 10 months.

Slug, when you read the word "immediately" in the racing rules of sailing, do you think that you have 10 months to respond to the hail "Room to Tack" ? Does the word immediately mean "probably never" ?

This is real simple. NATO is a defensive alliance for members. Ukraine is not a member.

Now if you question is why are the individual Western Nations (that are mostly members of NATO) standing by, that is mostly a similar situation. No nation is obligated to send in troops or aircraft. With no obligation, any nation that does declares it intends to send in troops or aircraft is in effect voluntarily declaring war on Russia. Such an action would risk retaliatory action by Russia. Use of Russian naval assets (with cruise missiles) would be "on the table" more than likely. And the big worry would be that Putin may come up with some way to justify to himself that there is an acceptable benefit vs risk for a limited nuclear response toward this third party nation.

Now you may really be asking why an "alliance of nations" made up of NATO members is "just standing by". If the process was even started for forming such an alliance, the probability for Putin to completely loose it and feel justified in "going nuke" is drastically increased.

From a self serving and self protecting aspect, the smart (but ugly and I would say immoral) approach for the West is to just slowly ramp up material support for Ukraine as needed to push Russia back to a point where Ukraine can eventually decide it is ok to stop. The slow ramp up of weapons quantity and capability minimizes a sudden gross escalation (nukes or similar) by Russia.

The West is not going to let Ukraine fall apart due to cruise missile and drone attacks on civilian targets. Similar to military support, the West will do "just enough".

As far as the air war, the real aspect that matters is at the front lines and the support network for the front lines. Ukraine with help from the West is pushing to achieve adequate "air power" (mostly drone surveillance & weaponized drones) along with AD (EW, etc. to limit effective Russian use of drones) to support ground advances. This is very much a "work in progress" but the Western "military industrial complex" sees huge potential for profit. The longer this thing goes on, the more Western money will get dumped into this technology. With the obvious profit opportunity, I see the "state of the art" advancing rapidly. I seriously doubt that Russia will be able to prevent the West from winning the "drone war" piece of the puzzle.
Americans know where Ukraine is, and aside from atrocties against civilians and agricultural exports (ok and mail order brides), its true that most dont give two shits about Ukraine. One of the most corrupt countries on the planet. There is no appetite to get in an escalating battle, physical or financial, in Ukraine vs Russia. Just to make enormous investment, maybe also in lives, to wake up one day and see these two assholes smiling and shaking hands again over a real estate compromise they just made to end hostilities. So far we have supplied $475B in aid and it will continue to flow. As for Zits, his Stolnychnaya soaked brain is excreting emotional hormones evoking memories of the great Russian bear, which does not exist anymore. If you speak to Russians who have family on the front lines and get real reports, they are quite different from the propaganda Zits is hearing on his Sputnik era singe side band radio in the dark, cold, and damp cabin of someone elses boat.

According to Bloomberg, Western sanctions against Russia will end in a chaotic failure of the West.
According to Kommersant , the largest business and financial publication in Russia, they forecast that the Russian economy can only sustain the special operation in Ukraine and Western sanctions for 11 more weeks and that there will be major bank failures, a rush to hoard foreign currencies, widespread shortages of essential components of production widening to shortages of food, basic necessities and medical supplies. Hospitals are cancelling elective surgery due to shortage of anesthetic . Government employees are paid in tokens from January 1st and the state printing facilities have already started preparing ration cards and evacuation maps. All this and more can be read on what I call Zitski news media.

Hmmm. I've spent 10 minutes looking at Kommersant and can't say I see anything on those lines?

Kind of amazing how Trump has got you guys to rally around Putin. He's a spent force. You don't have to type this shit for your leader anymore.

Sluggo is sounding desperate today. I think he has realized where this is going, and what it means to his sailing career. Russians, particularly those who support the war, won't be welcome anywhere except maybe Vietnam, Cuba and South Africa soon.

Most analysts in Russia & some in the West criticize the U.S. as allegedly fighting a "proxy war" in Ukraine, designed to weaken Russia. Why does no one ever contemplate the opposite, how China might be using Russia as a proxy to weaken US/NATO military capacities?

China also is reaping tremendous economic benefits from Putin's war, purchasing Russian oil at heavily discounted prices. Over time, Russia also will become heavily dependent on Chinese technologies. Russia's dependencies on China are growing rapidly.

So why must Russians continue to die to enhance Chinese security? Why must Russians suffer economically while continuing to provide China with economic benefits? In return, Xi won't even say one positive word about Putin's sovereignty claims in Ukraine. Some friend.

I'm assuming that those in Moscow who think strategically & realistically about Russia's long-term security and economic interests are quietly wrestling with these questions. Hoping eventually they stop being so quiet.
