it may have had some value if
the russian army had plenty of spetsnaz and special paras
but what he had of those got a bit of a whomping in the first 10 days .. sadly just a few stragglers left since then

if he had plenty of modern tanks backed up by plenty more older types
sadly the modern ones would feel somewhat self conscious nowadays as the pool of plentiful backup partners has been drained down to a muddy puddle .. and dancing alone is no fun even if you are the prettiest tank left on the front

1) Irrespective of what Ukraine and the west may or may not have done, Putin and Russia initiated this war of aggression and was rightly condemned for it by the UN
2) Irrespective of what other armed forces may or may not have done, Russian forces have conducted many war-crimes - including the deliberate targeting of civilian areas
3) Based the withdrawals from North of Kyiv, the Kharkiv area and Kherson, Russian forces have over the last 5 months been slowly losing

And that is largely true of all modern democracies. It is impracticable to consult the population for every issue so we elect representatives to govern on our behalf. They inevitably have to make difficult decisions that will upset much of the population at times. The democratic accountability is through the next ballot box.
Always assuming unlike Putin you haven't had every opposition leader arrested, poisoned or otherwise eliminated.
