The 105 ammo for the Leopard 1 might be hard to find. People who still use them are have R sympathies. For example the Brazilians still use them but they’ve not yet released the gephard 35mm ammo to avoid upsetting R.
The U.S. M60 series and original M1 used the same cannon (British L7) and I’d be astonished if we did not have large quantities in stock.

A lot of the Leopard 1s are being sent, they don't have the heavy armor that can take a big hit and survive but are very mobile with excellent fire power so look for them to be used to back up armored infantry and mobile artillery units. Once targets are identified the above clip will be very accurate and deadly.

Cobbling together the AFVs and tanks, UkrA will end up with a couple of fully modernized armored brigades (note the number of M1s - 31 - not a random number) and a small, modern tanks corps to open holes in lines.

Still, the Archer artillery system and ground launches small diameter bomb are more important in my opinion.

In other news, Reznikov might be out.
Looks like it.
Looking like corruption. Long series of bribery and corruption scandals. 5000 USD to avoid mobilisation, incompetence troop organisation, , pilots sent to infantry.

New guy Budanov, has an impressive background. GRU, avoided 10 assassination attempts. One wonders how many Zelenski's avoided

TWZ: Do you think that there's any real chance that there'll be an effort to overthrow Putin?
KB: Not now, but as soon as Russia suffers defeat, this will happen really fast.
TWZ: And then what?
KB: Then the Russian Federation will change its form.
TWZ: Do you think that there's anybody behind Putin that's going to be any better in terms of Ukraine’s future and really the future with the West?
KB: I don't believe Russians at all. I don't believe that there's any good person behind him but whoever comes to power will surely blame Putin for all the bad that was done.

On another note re Kreminna area
The Russians have some 125,000 troops there needing 250 trucks a day and it looks like they can't get this number in. A lot of pressure on maintenance and they consume more than they stock. UKR sending in remote teams to blow up depots. 1:8 kill ratio in UKR favour.

Saw some hellacious footage from in Bakhmut today, it may be best to pull out. It's getting completely demolished.

Perhaps as a face saving way out for Russia, Ukraine could allow the "Krasna Talivka pocket" to be recognized as part of Russia, provided Russia recognizes all the rest of Ukraine as Ukraine. Everything to the East of the Derkul River and south of Frolovka is Russia. Everything to the West of the Derkul is Ukraine.

Ukraine recovers Crimea and Sevastopol. Russia gets to keep the Krasna Talivka pocket and Talove in the Luhansk Oblast.

How about RU goes back home with the agreed settlement that the areas of Southern Russia and North Caucasian become DMZs?

No wonder 1984 is top of the sales list in Russia. It does make me wonder if there is more than a ripple of discontent. There must be enough vets and folk who have a smattering of history to wonder WTF is going on.

Very likely. The US Army is also reintroducing 105mm for infantry support. It is the main weapon for the Mobile Protected Firepower vehicle, a ~40 ton tank.

Previously nobody wanted to sell 105mm to Ukraine. Or to Germany for use in Ukraine.

Obvious answer IMNSHO would have been to give the tanks to Ukraine anyway. Let someone else get roasted for lack of support after the last ~4000 rounds from Germany are gone. Should be enough to train the first batch of tank crews.

For Russia to concede Crimea, including Sevastopol, isn’t even slightly face saving.
