I have printing done in China every so often. So have a bunch off associates (account managers) there that I'm friendly with. They seem pretty happy with their standard of living. There are people over by the coast here in Perth who make out little home look like an African hut. But we are happy in our cool, paid for, little place.
What I do know is my Chinese business mates are feel mildly miffed that we in the west keep crapping on about how our standard of living is way ahead of them and they are doing it tough.
We should stop generalizing on this.
Of course there are well off people in China and Russia. The fact remains that on average people are far better off in the west than either of those

You realize you are talking about Seymour Hersh right? Do you even know who he is?
A decade ago, Hersh was one of the most respected investigative journalists on the planet, having broken major stories from the My Lai massacre in 1969 to the Abu Ghraib scandal in 2004. But more recently, his reports have become less and less credible. He's claimed that much of the US special forces is controlled by secret members of Opus Dei, that the US military flew Iranian terrorists to Nevada for training, and that the 2013 chemical weapons attack in Syria was a "false flag" staged by the government of Turkey. Those reports have had little proof and, rather than being borne out by subsequent investigations, have been either unsubstantiated or outright debunked. A close reading of Hersh's bin Laden story suggests it is likely to suffer the same fate.

Completely agree! Have followed all that too.

The amount of detail had me thinking he might be onto something close to real, but he could be being fed a bunch of crap too.

I do still think the US may have been the one to pull that off, but with agreement from GER as SH also suggests happened. The timing of what's his name's visit to the WH could be more than coincidental.

RU's nuclear policy is that they will never attack or initiate a first strike, but if their homeland is threatened they will used them to defend. Thats what uneducated political simpletons like you fail to understand since the US has never faced a threat apart from excess twinkies, too much fatty food and suchlike.
Is someone threatening russia proper? Not the illegal annexations, Russia's own borders set when the USSR disbanded. No? Then STFU already about nukes. Will there need to be a negotiated settlement? I hope so. The Korea situation is tiresome at best.

Nobody is going to end the world over this, people won't push those buttons even if Putin did order it.
If they don't push the button to launch, they are committing involuntary defenestration.

If Putin orders it and there is a launch, he is committing suicide by cop, on an inconceivable scale.

Did you read my post? The two women I talk about are just wage earners managing accounts, like mine, that are barely a few thousandth US dollars a year.
We don't swallow the bloody Russian/Chinese/whatever propaganda. So why would we swallow our own. Stuff like living standards are an irrelevant metric designed to make us feel superior.

In the wild.
This forum has a cool feature: if you put someone on ignore, you can check a box, and they can’t see your content.
So, then it's not a forum anymore, think about it!
Just putting trolls on ignore is OK, and you can choose to see their particular post if you wish, or don't see anything at all. All your personal choice. But to stop others from seeing any of your content is insane. Stingray is one of those ignorant arseholes, actually.

Russians and Germans are doing business and dealing with each other on many levels from the top down right now. There are very intelligent and experienced diplomats on both sides working on solutions, remember in geopolitics all that matters are "interests" and when they are common people find a way to resolve any differences. The political narrative is noisy and self interested but there are some very serious people working on this who A.dont want war and B realise the a negotiated agreement is the only solution.

Discussing anything here is for laffs as far as I am concerned because any post is automatically followed by

You russian troll and sucker of putins dick
russian bad
here pikture of bad russian man geting blowed up
lookit piktuer of tank wif big gun har har

The common clay of the empire, people of the land, you know m....s

A) The Russian invaders need to leave Ukraine.
B) War over.
C) You are potato.

"a negotiated agreement is the only solution" - every war ends in a negotiated settlement, repeating this is vapid nonsense. The treaty of Brest-Litovsk was a negotiated agreement.

Most wars end in a negotiated settlement. Not necessarily an equal one. Those that don’t involve pulverising one capital to dust and I don’t really see UKR seizing Moscow. Do you?

Plenty of nations have been forced to the bargaining table to sign unequal settlements without one capital being pulverized to dust. This is more nonsense.

Correct, that is not happening. You seem to have trouble with reading comprehension. Bye bye.
Having trouble sleeping, are you? You seem even more grumpy than usual today.

I do too at times but am learning to tune into different things for part of my day and night, to sleep better; especially some good music helps me - my big blue-eyed Siamese cat purrs better that way too :)
