Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin are calling for an end to actions that “increase tensions” and prolong the war in Ukraine, according to a readout released by Chinese state media People’s Daily of the two leaders meeting in Moscow Tuesday.

According to the readout, Russia spoke positively about China’s “objective and fair” stance on Ukraine and both sides opposed any country or group of countries harming the “legitimate security interests of other countries in pursuit of military, political or other advantages.”

We, the west, need to have better relations with China than what RU does. And maybe we do, but the hysteria over the f'ing air balloon suggests otherwise.

I do not like the fact that China is Communist (although that doesn't hurt me) and I do not like their long-term goal to incorporate Taiwan if Taiwan wants to stay independent, but Xi is correct when he says the West is surrounding his country with weaponry. China has positioned nothing like it anywhere near US shores.

Xi has said that, very unlike the US, they are not supplying weapons to RU for the UKR War. I believe it unless things change and then we get evidence to the contrary.

We need to get the situation in Ukraine sorted out and then offer a pathway for a post-Putin Russia to reengage with the West because eventually China will expand in the Pacfic both North and South, unless faced with a determined and united alliance in opposition.

This. China is engaging in the same expansionist games that Russia is by buying friends (Belt and Road) and building military bases in the south China Sea.

When Xi said Russia and China have common goals, this expansionism is what he meant.

Hitler and Putin were dictators simply because no one or group have the power to remove them. Xi is not a dictator because the CCP has the power to remove him so that his actions need to please the CCP or he would be fired.
