The big flow on the 4th looks like a compensation system.
When a dam is constructed across a river valley, an outlet pipe, usually in a tunnel, must be provided from the reservoir to allow some water to continue to flow in the river downstream. Sufficient water must be let through to maintain the fish and wildlife that use the river, and the natural vegetation in and around it. This water is called compensation water.

One reason it is highly unlikely Ukraine was behind it;
They asked ICC for full support in research of war crimes.
They gave researchers all access to areas they wanted to investigate.
Ukraine wants to prosecute war criminals at ICC.

IF ICC finds a tiny piece of evidence of Ukrainian involvement, this all is worthless.

Though satellites are important, do not underestimate the importance of the intel aircraft that are up every day. Though they are having to keep their distance, aircraft like rivet joint will be supplying a lot of useful info, especially in Crimea and southern Ukraine (and of course about the black seas fleet)
Agreed and that's an area that once again the Ukrainians will have a HUGE advantage courtesy of the yanks.
Also, don't forget about OSINT, which will be playing a big part also.
Yes, some parts of Ukraine will have collaborators, but most of the occupied areas will have more willing contributors to Ukrainian OSINT than the Russians.

I retract my earlier comments about a water fountain, in the pic I was thinking of (undated, but it appears there is wreckage on the dam) it does instead look like smoke from an explosion.

Timestamp.

'Retired four star general David Petraeus ...' leans towards the disaster being from incompetence by RUs. But he sounds optimistic about the military situation, for UKR.
