Recent satellite picture shows the dam remains holding back a reasonable amount of water which is good for upstream uses. It is also good for the downstream people as the river will return to it's old level again soon?

What leads you to conclude that once the water retreats in 2-3 weeks, that they will have a shorter line?
Because the water can retreat, but the ground will remain saturated and unnavigable for MUCH MUCH longer.
Also, the bridge over the dam that the Russians blew was a potential significant point of ingress into the point of contact.

The water is already starting to recede from max flow
Is this because the water has reached the lowest point of the dam break, or because the water is at equal height both sides? Sure hope it's the former, the damn thing is already a years-long disaster.

Early reports had the reservoir dropping by 5cm per hour, a lot for a body of water that freaking large... Have you seen different, later reports?

Saw a picture of jagged dam pieces sticking up through the water flow over the dam. I guess there will be a good flow yet but not as much as before.
I hope this will mean a slowing down of the flow but maybe not enough to let the water recede much?

The water is already starting to recede from max flow, which means the max will move down river in 1 or 2 days and then we will see?
i am going with the

yayyyy

ewwwww

oops

with the rushtards wanting to poke a good sized hole in the dam to keep the waterway flooded for at least a month and hopefully longer .. or until there is little chance of ukraine using it to attack the tards from the rear
which was always the biggest problem with the area .. not likely to be used but will be if it is left defenseless .. not a good position for the tards when they are running short of most things including cannon fodder ..
all of which is needed badly to shore up the rest of the contact line

using a heap more explosives than needed or advised to make sure it works is about par for the course for the rushtards at the present time

So it really does seem like the counter-offensive has started. Russian sources reporting attacks in several places, Ukranian sources claiming penetration of over 1km in one.
Are these just probing ahead of a massed attack? Probably. Don't see any hard evidence of a main thrust, though there is credible RU imagery showing a few Leopards involved

Russia playing the greatest hits at International Court of Justice this morning. Calls Ukraine government neo-Nazis, accuses them of oppressing Donbas, denies any involvement in shooting down MH17.
Russian ambassador Alexander Shulgin also alleges, without providing evidence to judges at the UN's top court, that Kyiv destroyed the Kakhovka dam with 'massive artillery attacks' and deliberately raised the water level of the reservoir beforehand.
Probably the fairest way of describing submissions by British lawyer for Russia, which reheat claims about MH17 and Bellingcat already dismissed by a Dutch court and int'l investigators, is that you don't often hear so much laughter in the ICJ press room.

They never stop lying, never ever ever.
And nice from that British law firm to keep working for Russia, assisting them all the way.
Helping Russia with their lies.

Kherson is under fire now.
Russians are shelling the coastal areas and the central part of the city. City central is a evacuation point. Fucking Russians.
