Russia:
Spends more than a year bombing civilians, claiming it will wipe Ukraine off the map and kill every living thing if it has to. Inside Ukraine and outside.

Also Russia:
We would never blow up a dam! What gave you that idea??

Been watching videos of this truly massive flooding and around two thirds of the problem is on the left (SE) bank, it is an unbelievable disaster. People on roof tops begging for food and water, complete devastation all around. 600 sq km is flooded, 15m deep in some areas. And the dam appears to be progressively collapsing.

I wish the Red Cross or UN or someone could get in there in a big way, RU is clearly doing f'ck-all to help.

The Russians would probably need to stop shelling the relief effort before the UN or Red Cross move in to help.

Some before and after pics from the Guardian. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...ter-satellite-images-reservoir-kherson-oblast

The left bank's terrain is flatter than the right bank so the Russia side is getting the worst of it. The left bank is less densely populated though, but there are clearly a hell of a lot of houses on it.

It's not clear that RU would shell relief efforts on that side of the river. And if the efforts by UN personnel did get shelled, well then things could take a dramatic change, right?

Thousands of homes are flooded on both sides but yes, the majority on the left bank.

I have seen interviews from people in the Kherson area who have been contacting family on the other side of the river who are in devastating conditions and of course their cell phone batteries are now dying.

Flooding even up to first floor level is just so devastating from the foundations on up that much of this area will not be recoverable for years to come even if the stone walls do survive and eventually dry completely. You have water supplies, electrical systems, all the home contents that were flooded including short-circuited appliances, rot, mold, washed away infrastructure and farmland systems, it's an epic disaster.

I would like to see the UN move in, with aggressively heavy armor protection if necessary.

seems clear to everyone else.
Who is 'everyone else' - you?

I have seen help being attempted from the right bank to people on the left bank including boats saving people and drones dropping water bottles. Kherson is getting shelled still but I did not hear any shelling reports from on that other side.

So far casualties seem remarkably light, at least compared to a Katrina event. Let's hope it says that way.

Yikes, UKR completely decimated in a counter offensive attempt

I wouldn't bother with that guy anymore, myself. Shows like 4-5 damaged vehicles out of a column of at least 20 and describes it as a major defeat...and then goes right into the grinding of his political ax.

Doesn’t seem right ? Are they definitely leopards not a bunch of old shitters parked there to draw arty ?
Sounds like just one Leopard 2 was destroyed along with maybe 3-4 old M113 APCs

Doubt it was done to draw fire. Just a dense column of armour that looks way too Soviet in formation. Could be a challenge getting stuff to the front to use. The fields on the side of the road were mined.

Well I hope he is wrong in this case this but that guy follows developments in extremely great detail, every day, and so I doubt he is wrong. I will continue to watch his reports; and continue my (small) monthly PayPal donations for his knowledge and effort.

Am sure some future efforts by UKR will have better success; this one did look disastrous.
