so, on the dam . . . . it is looking like it was both malice and incompetence.

There is intercepted voice chatter of Russian military saying:

"That was our sabotage group," "They wanted to, like, scare (people) with that dam."
"It didn't go according to plan, and (they did) more than what they planned for."

This combined with @enigmatically2 seismic graph posted somewhat above provides some actual evidence (more than opinions). Most probably explosives and incompetence involved.

Something I learned from looking at this . . . . is that dams actually fail more often than I had guessed, between 2000 and 2009 around the world, two reasonably significant dams failed per year on average. Overtopping and poor maintenance on sluice gates were common contributing factors.

This has been my guess too.

But denys is in Ukr nd spending his money there, so no problem. But he needs to use clickbait to keep interest going.
On this part, no Denys and his family are not in UKR and he freely admits this. My guess, based on a few things he has mentioned, is that he is now in Germany and perhaps near Berlin.

Yes there are many 'bloggers' out there who are useful to follow being as how many of them are good at integrating news and presenting it, it's a full-time job to do that well. You may have taken offense to his 'bad news' post yesterday fretting about the losses UKR appears to have taken but Denys, while extremely pro-UKR, is also a realist and that's one reason I trust his opinions and trust that much of what he chooses to present is pertinent to current events. There are many bloggers out there who truly are clickbait, with their Rah-Rah-Rah overblown imagery of UKR supposedly scoring huge victories every day, lots of explosions and so forth shown as 'breaking news.'

Was a good watch. Will share widely. I still think we should give Ukraine whatever they want.
The Russian 'elites", middle and upper classes, are concentrated in two places - Moscow, and St Petersburg making them vulnerable in an exchange of nukes.
Getting rid of Putin is no guarantee of a better regime. Patrushev could be worse?
I'm sure there is work being done building profiles on the devil's we don't know.

Slow grinding advance. But 600 tanks? WTF. Time will tell. RfU is normally not given to flights of fancy, he has been spot on for the past year.
I reckon based on the forces dispersion on the Deep State map Russia is ready to give up the South and reinforce the East.

That video of destroyed Ukrainian material.

New videos pop up, now from Ukraine's side.
It was an ambush of Russia, so poor/bad intel from Ukraine. For whatever reason.
They brought in the Bradleys to save their trapped soldiers in the head of the recon.
So far very few casualties, and the operation to get most of their people out was successful and soldiers behaved well.

Ukraine send in vehicles to save their troops.
A pity they lost their vehicles, and on PR side people ran away with it. Claiming defeat, troubles etc. But their soldiers are alive.

Ukraine needs more long range missiles not fired from an airplane.... they need to destroy the helicopter bases which are out of reach.... in other words, ATCMS now... specially after the dam did burst, who cares about Russian red lines... UkFrance already delivered shadows...

June 9 ISW report on RUS/Iran cooperation https://www.understandingwar.org/backgrounder/ukraine-conflict-updates

The White House revealed on June 9 that Iran is helping Russia build a drone manufacturing factory in Yelabuga, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, underscoring the growing military cooperation between Tehran and Moscow despite Western sanctions.[38] National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby stated on June 9 that the drone factory — which the Wall Street Journal reported in February 2023 could produce at least 6,000 Iranian Shahed-136 drones — could be operational by early 2024.[39] Kirby previously announced on May 15 that Russia is seeking to purchase new drones from Iran after expending most of its Iranian drone supply.[40] A factory producing Iranian drones in Russia would support Russia’s war effort against Ukraine. Russia could provide Iran with advanced military equipment that would modernize Iran’s air force, such as Su-35 fighter jets, attack helicopters, radars, and YAK-130 combat trainer aircraft, in return for helping construct the factory. Officials of an unspecified US ally previously stated that Iranian officials travelled to Yelabuga in January 2023 to discuss the construction of a new drone manufacturing facility in the city, reporting the same claim the facility could produce 6,000 or more drones in the coming years.

Tucker Carlson is many things but stupid is not one of them. So when he describes Ukraine’s Jewish president (‘a man called Zelensky’) as ‘sweaty and rat-like’, ‘a persecutor of Christians’ and ‘our shifty, dead-eyed Ukrainian friend’, I suspect he knows exactly what he’s doing.

Tucker is an entertainer that likes to manipulate his audience. It is crystal clear from his texts in comparison to his "on-air" remarks, that he will say or do anything that makes him money. He knows hate is a bigger money maker than togetherness.

I don't know if you have gone on to read the piece but it goes into some length discussing the extent to which these tropes are knowing and intended to elicit outrage from the left, nods of recognition from the far-right and perhaps be taken literally from some others. It is worth reading.
