I see, you must have met some perfectly "normal" Ukrainians too.

F Mental.
As a matter of fact, the family who bought the next home down the lake recently are from Ukraine. Three beautiful young children and the mom and dad are both deep into Amazon IT.

But that's not where I know a lot of long-time Ukraine general and political history from, including recent and related American political involvement. Am sure you are well-versed too... :D

I just watched a YouTube vid that was about a Ukranian film maker who was the only one left in his apartment block. He had a cot in the furnace room in the basement that in which he rode out the shelling and rocket attacks but then took the interviewer up to his apartment to show how he had cameras set up looking down the streets that Russian tanks and troops could be coming down to invade the capital. Pretty serious in that he was determined to show to the world the invasion. As he gave the tour of his place I saw what looked like a helmet and wondered if he had been issued a AK-47 and helmet to resist in a more serious manner. As the camera got closer I realived that the helmet was more like a bicycle helmet and upon closer inspection it was hanging on the tip of a Kiteboard behind the couch. So that little insight gave me insight to how these folk are just regular citizens pursuing their everyday passions until all this Putin crap comes along!

I just hope this all caves in on Putin and these people can get back to being free and going kiteboarding when they want to.

Sorry for the poor screengrab.

Saw that too today.

My thought was that if he shoots the thing at a tank from that apartment, the building will get demolished, instantly. :(

1.  You seem to know very little about urban ground combat.  A group of armored vehicles cannot bring down an apartment building, instantly or otherwise  Mess up the front a little, sure.  That is why insurgents learn to shoot and scoot out the back door.

2.  The goal of the Ukrainian urban fighters is not to protect apartment buildings. It is to defeat the Russians. Harassing small arms fire is just one arrow in their quiver.  The commander of any armored vehicle is less than 50% effective in an urban environment if he has to keep his hatch buttoned up.  Small arms fire will keep his hatch buttoned up.

Putin has has really screwed up and he is cooked.  Reports are that many of the Russian troops were told it was a training exercise and have no idea what is really going on.

NATO has gotten themselves into a Nuke war with Russia/Belarus with all their Deployments!
Relax. No one is launching Nukes. Putin will be assassinated by his own military before they let him press the big red button.

The US/ NATO counter attack would wipe Russia off the map. They know this. Its merely brinksmanship.

The fact that Putin even had to mention "Nuclear" shows the war isn't going well for Putin.

He is a man backed into a corner. If he wins, the sanctions NATO and, pretty much everyone has slapped on him will hit him so hard he won't know what day of the week it is.

If he loses, IMO he's a dead man. The Kremlin won't take too kindly to being defeated by a bunch of rag tag volunteers who's patriotism, and will to defend their country overcame their own survival instinct.

Either way, Putin put himself in a lose/ lose situation. He has (possibly inadvertently) united the West, lost the support of China, as well as the Russian people, United Ukraine, and motivated the country from kids to old people to take up arms, and fight the invaders.

Putin will end up the same way Hitler did.

Even I live in Germany that Belarus Referendum scares the hell out of me.

https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/launchpad-russias-assault-ukraine-belarus-holds-referendum-renounce-non-nuclear-2022-02-27/

I am absolutely convinced if the 3 NATO Baltic States + Poland install nukes on their border Belarus President Lukashenko will ask Putin for the nukes he gave away in 1991 when the former Soviet Republic fell.
Not only are you uninformed and inexperienced in the Americas Cup, you are overall a pathetic weak piece of shit. You blame countries for wanting the same level of defense as Putin has? What the ever living fuck.

Here’s an idea - when Putin’s thugs come into your town, run to the front line, turn around, drop your pants, bend over, spread your asshole and scream COME FUCK ME IN THE ASS VLAD BABY.

On second thought, sounds like you already give it up willingly to Putin because you are weak of mind and character.

Amazing to think that we have found a subject about which you are even more ignorant than sailing.

You are aware that Ukraine gave up the nuclear weapons it inherited from the USSR in response to a guarantee of security from Russia?

I tend to agree. He's screwed the pooch big time. Not only is the military campaign floundering, he's made his country an international pariah of the worst sort. Russia's reputation is shot. He's also inspired Germany to rearm. This is big news. Germany's effectively had a pacifist outlook since WWII - for obvious reasons - but now they're being encouraged to spend big on weapons, are they're going to do it. Good for them, this is a huge shift for Germany, and one that Putin caused. Russian Generals will not be happy with that outcome.

Putin will be desperately looking for some face saving way out of this mess, but pressure will be building at home for his removal.

FIFA have finally caught up with the rest of the world and suspended Russia thanks to IOC action

Wonder how Putin will explain why they will not even be allowed to play to try and qualify for the world cup. Another nail in his propaganda and lies. And with the IOC called them to be banned from all olympic sports hopefully that will be a story we will hear more of

And some say that you should keep politics out of sport and that the rules are more important than morals.

Don't know about outside Europe, but major sporting events are now preceded by a message of solidarity with Ukraine and display of their flag

The posters over in PA have raised $2300 going directly to assist Ukraine humanitarian needs thanks to Ed Lada  and his connections in Poland.  And a policeman who did some training with the Houston PD is fighting with a Don't Mess With Texas patch.

This has been a public service announcement - we now return to normal posting.

And the Statement of the Nordic-Baltic countries:

One of the better videos I have seen over the past day. One of his points is how we may need to try give Putin an 'out' he will accept to avoid true devastation of Kiev - tough as that may be to swallow.
