What are those places on the base where you can get food and stuff for a greatly reduced price if you are a military guy? Why are the prices so much cheaper than what I would pay? What are those places called? You betcha!

Commie-sary?What are those places on the base where you can get food and stuff for a greatly reduced price if you are a military guy? Why are the prices so much cheaper than what I would pay? What are those places called?
No, they do not.Hey, can some someone tell me if the VA covers dependents? I can't remember.
Bullshit.Paid for 40 years ago
Simplified.Ya filthy commie !
To explain - M4A single payer is kinda socialist, very much like Canada: the VA. with facilities owned by the gummint and staff gummint employees is like the British system - i.e., communist.
And you have the unmitigated gall to call me a socialist?
I think you have zero concept
If a war is thoroughly unjust, how can it be heroic to wage it?Paid for 40 years ago, what were you all fucking panzies doing?
Commissary. Or PXWhat are those places on the base where you can get food and stuff for a greatly reduced price if you are a military guy? Why are the prices so much cheaper than what I would pay? What are those places called?
Thank you for your service and thank you for not being a hypocritical douche nozzle. If a war is thoroughly unjust, how can it be heroic to wage it?
You should be penalized on your taxes for being so stupid as to be sucked into the evil enterprise of the Vietnam war, not showered with bennies.
Full Disclosure - I'm a Vietnam vet too, but it gives me scant pride.
I was in middle school.Paid for 40 years ago, what were you all fucking panzies doing?
I was getting pissed with the poor suckers AKA USA servicemen allowed loose in Sydney for some R&R. And hoping I wouldn't be joining them in a scant few years hence.I was in middle school.
It's really hard to tell. Having the government in the over-65 market really distorts it. I retired at 58 and paid for my wife and I until we were 65. At that point it was impossible to find an insurance plan that offered everything for everybody on demand.Wonder what a retired middle aged white male who smokes and regularly consumes alcohol would pay for in premiums on the private market. Bet a few pre-existing conditions would really be an eye opener for Mr. Fuck-you-I-got-mine.
I was in middle school.
He hasn’t answered that one.Panama or Grenada?
That was a burning question during Viet Nam. Two cousins who died over there went over all rah rah, but apparently were questioning what the hell they were doing just before they both died in the same action. Double casket funeral. Guys just back diving into an adjacent newly excavated grave when the salute caught them unawares. By the time the reception was over, my Uncle, a cop and WW2 Ranger, who had been, up to that point, gung ho for the whole thing wound up talking to a Master Sargent for a couple of hours who was just back after his 2nd deployment, and had become disillusioned about the whole thing. My uncle wound up a mess for the next couple of years. I was 14 when all that happened. 1966.If a war is thoroughly unjust, how can it be heroic to wage it?
I go once a uear for an annual...Bullshit.
If you never use it or at least very little of it then you paid for it.
Otherwise the taxpayers are paying for you.
Of course you don't understand how insurance works so...
Do you mean the VA proper, or Tri-Care?Hey, can some someone tell me if the VA covers dependents? I can't remember.
Unless you meant "anal", ever thought about going twice a year?I go once a uear for an annual...
Some stuff's cheaper - and you don't pay taxes on alcohol or cigarettes, but, in the states? You can often find better/cheaper on the economy. Overseas? The commissary is often the only place you can find American foodstuffs.Commissary. Or PX
Tri-Care Actually. I already know the answer since my two brothers were Coasty lifers and my wife was an Air Force brat.Do you mean the VA proper, or Tri-Care?
Kind of curious. Between 58 and 65 did you have insurance, and if so, what were the premiums like. I'm kind of in the same position right now - can retire but the prospect of paying a bazillion dollars a month for insurance may influence plans. It's really hard to tell. Having the government in the over-65 market really distorts it. I retired at 58 and paid for my wife and I until we were 65. Milking Medicare is a major industry in retirement areas. We get robocalls offering mobility scooters and various body braces a couple of times a week. One of my neighbors went to a chiropractor under medicare (covered for a limited period). At the end of the period he was told that he could get a back brace under Medicare which would cover. When he got the statement he was amazed that it cost almost $1000 and was paid.
