Due to a row over Brexit the EU excluded UK so UK won't share it's base stations thus Galileo won't have global coverage 🤣

What does Galileo system need ground stations in UK for for global coverage?

And yes I know the role of the ground stations in a GNSS system, but the sats work just fine for a while without an upload, yes?

Joking aside the Europeans are working on their own system Galileo. Due to a row over Brexit the EU excluded UK so UK won't share it's base stations thus Galileo won't have global coverage 🤣
Greetings from Europe, Galileo works as well as the US military GPS from satelites orbiting.
This seems more an Apple issue. On our boat I-pads run Navionics, so your suggestion to check the settings makes sense.
Or maybe the US version of Navionics is blocked for the use in Europe, so we are able to benefit from your sales prices

At least mine (not very new version) running both on Android and iPad works fine both sides of the pond.

This WiFi-only iPad model can work with GPS data shared by an iPhone running and running on the same account (Read Apple ID).

As GPS on iAnything eats batteries it is advisable to plug both devices to a healthy power supply.

Not in the UK, it's places like the Ascension Islands. Galileo will work fine in Europe just not globally. You can't "relocate" these stations, without them Galileo doesn't work in those regions (ie it's is not accurate)

Why won't Galileo work in those places exactly?

And why can't you relocate the stations, when that is exactly what they did?

Spot the Ascension Island ground station?

Jamba is just mad that the UK helped to built it, but because of Brexit it was shut out of using it. Members only.
Galileo works fine.

It doesn't work. It has no global coverage. It will be fine for Europe.

Galileo is built on UK technology as no one else in the EU could match us.

The EU said we could use the system just not for defence.

To be fair, its an open service mostly, but yes, UK was kicked out from encrypted, military grade restricted service.

They have access to similar service from Uncle Sam, so they're covered.

It does not? Why is that? Can you explain in detail, please? Do the sats shut down transmission over UK? How about when not over UK, but over UK horizon?

G in the acronym stands for global, yes?

Partly, but there are no magic in it.

Exactly. EU law forbits certain including encryption secrets shared outside member states. UK has similar laws. Fair game.
