ahh the joy of VR sailing when you wake up and see 41st but flashing red "Wrong sail configuration"

i must have been going ok as we converged around tasman island, alas all gone to custard as I forgot to turn auto sails on while sleeping to tighten up and get around the corner.

Apparently sailing upwind with the zero doesn''t work so well.

Morning SA'ers (in Aus at least)...  yep my how things change when you go off-watch - aka fall asleep without alarm, and miss the weather/wind update/change. Only to get up and see that just-in-case programmed route no longer optimal after Tasman Is.

This is going to be a good finish. I'm squeezing all I can out of those polars. Hopefully break into a triple digit finish. Didn't get the foils or hull polish but have a full suit of sails. Go get 'em, Gybe Turkey!

Has anyone witnessed that inconsistency before? I’m clearly not 496 miles behind the leader. Hell... the pack is less than 30 mins in front of me. Also, I can’t seem to find anyplace that says I’m that far behind. Where are you getting that info from? Thanks again, TR!

I'm just using the numbers from the Rankings.  Go to the menu button in the top right of the screen and press rankings, you can choose whether to look at the overall, your country's ranking or your friends.  They give a distance to leader.  That is where I get the number.

I have no idea how they generate that number, and generally it seems reasonable, but not in this case.

A brief and final ranking.  It looks like everyone made it home, except Bill E Goat who is persevering with a South-easterly course.

I've calculated Yachtie's finish time against Gybe Turkey, but I would need a finish picture to do the same for shockwave and Jesus.

Well done to Gybe Turkey and everyone who finished.  Thanks for the entertainment.  I may be back for the RORC Caribbean 600.
