If you ran the DOE would you hire this person (before all the many other qualified MIT graduate candidates alone, not to mention the rest in the country) to a high level position regarding handling the country's nuclear waste, who's actions and judgement would reflect on your responsibility and career?

But, Brinton has an MS in Nuclear Science and Engineering (Technology and Policy) from MIT. I'd say that is qualified.

And yes if its distracting to co workers, it matters. So you walk into your investment brokerage house one day and your normal 250 pound male representative is now wearing only a Gstring, purple hair, and nipple rings instead of a jacket and tie. In your world that is ok and you wouldn't contemplate that maybe his/its focus isnt where it should be in handling your account and your family's life savings. You object to Brinton based on your subjective values about what is "acceptable" in one's appearance and personal life.

If such a thing were a factor, and a potential employer checked PA, you'd likely be labeled an asshole and potential liability for the company. Regardless of qualifications. Why would HR want the headache of dealing with the fallout from your bigotry?
