Probably the most ridiculous partisan opinion television fantasy television station on either side is MSNBC. Im shocked anyone would consider it a valid place to cite anything. They can get him on taxes, Georgia, possibly taking some papers home. But not Jan 6. He offered Nat Guard troops and was turned down. Some Capitol police were escorting them in. It will never happen.

Its amazing that he organized and planned the event to begin with. Regardless of its eventual size and getting out of control. Reasonable thinking people should not support him for that alone. But some always will.

No doubt. Stick with those stalwarts of factual reporting like Fox and Breitbart for unbiased coverage.

If that were true, why doesn't the NG agree?

DOD details National Guard response to Capitol attack

Once the reality of the assault on the U.S. Capitol became apparent, National Guard troops responded appropriately and with alacrity, Department of Defense officials said in a phone briefing on Jan. 7.

"Yesterday was a horrible and shameful day here in the capital, and the nation at large," Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy said on the call. "The District of Columbia asked the Army for help, and our National Guard responded."

McCarthy, Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Rath Hoffman and Kenneth P. Rapuano, the assistant secretary of defense for homeland defense, put the timeline of the National Guard response in perspective during the call.

District of Columbia officials knew of the planned protests and had requested some assistance when the "First Amendment demonstrations" were planned for Jan. 5 and 6, McCarthy said. Based on this request, officials called up 340 National Guardsmen to help. The Guardsmen were assigned mainly to traffic control, Metro crowd control, some logistics support and a 40-member quick reaction force to be based at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.

"No other requests were made," the Army secretary said.

During the event, a bunch of people including Speaker Pelosi called for assistance for the Capitol Police but response was delayed by a officials and procedures put in place by Trump and his appointees AFTER the Nov 2020 election

Yep. And, VP Pence was on the loading dock, doing his best to get the needed help.
None of your statements dispute the fact that Pelosi et al declined requests for NG PRIOR TO THE EVENT. Of course they asked during the event. In fact the quote you put in bold confirms this. Thanks for that. And Steamer just posted nonsense about Trump appointees and policies.

Not sure what you are on about. I don't watch either of these networks (except for NFL on Fox)

You said "He offered Nat Guard troops and was turned down". That is untrue.

Why do you make up stories? Is it a genetic thing, or a result of your environment?

Maybe it is required for being a Republican.

Liar.

Trump did neither of those things, he egged the insurrectionists on to kill VP Pence via tweet.
I believe the offer of NG is on the record. As is video of some Capitol police letting people in. You need to be better informed. I odnt agree with anything Trump did on Jan 6th. Just stating facts and the point is I dont think they will ever convict him on this.

Your "belief" is not grounded in reality.

Trump did not sign an order to deploy 20,000 troops on Jan. 6

CLAIM: Former President Donald Trump signed an order to deploy 20,000 National Guard troops before his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, but was stopped by the House sergeant at arms, at the behest of Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. While Trump was involved in discussions in the days prior to Jan. 6 about the National Guard response, he issued no such order before or during the rioting. Speaker Pelosi does not control National Guard troops.

I believe @Peter Andersen is thinking of the response of the defeated ex-President to the BLM protests.

Under pointed questioning in the Senate on Jan. 23, security officials did not say Pelosi blocked requests for backup. Irving, the former House sergeant-at-arms, testified: “It was not until the 6th that I alerted leadership that we might be making a request. And that was the end of the discussion.”
McCarthy, Stefanik and all the others leveling this baseless charge earn Four Pinocchios.

I believe I'll go with a source like AP, instead of one that heavily editorializes with shit like "Liberal “fact-checkers” like The Washington Post and PolitiFact argued the claim".

The DOD asked if they were needed. They did not offer the National Guard. Then the capitol police asked the wrong people for assistance. At NO TIME did Trump or his minions call up the National Guard. And you use Patel as your source of truth??? And because Trump is so fucking incompetent Capitol Police didn't want them there because of previous fiascos with Trump using the Nationa Guard as his private Bully force.
