Obviously, too late for vaccination booster for the kid. Your question is whether you should get the booster.

Consult your internist/primary care physician. The general advice regarding the most successful antiviral (Pd) is that it should be taken within 5 days of the first symptoms. Your kid is thus right up against the deadline. The PCP will asess the risk reward fo each particular patient.

I got it in Ireland along with one of our friends who was traveling with us. Day 1 / 2 felt crappy; slept poorly. Day 3/4 like a bad cold. Day5. Mostly over, just fatigue. But overall hard to concentrate and fuzzy thinking. I had 2 shots + 2 boosters and am 56. Not exactly life threatening and mild symptoms. I suspect I didn't get a strong initial dose of the virus.

For those traveling - Ireland, Canada and many other countries restrict anti-virals to those seriously ill or elderly/high risk. Our American friend tried to get some there and was told basically it's not available for you. He seems to be recovering fine without them.

Yes. All along ever since getting vaccinated in 2021. Before that I masked but only went to doctors. All our food and stuff was delivered orc Amazoned in 2020.
Mr Clew just had a second BinaxNow test. It's looking negative as did the one Friday. Just a summer cold we reckon. No fever. But taught him a lesson in not getting sloppy with touching surfaces then face, use hand gel like it's Bali lol.

An OT aside but those Binax tests are hard to use...getting exactly 6 drops of fluid in the hole with a recalcitrant dropper. Anybody have favorite tests for home?

I've acquired a hand washing habit after I touch stuff out in public (which is probably good, regardless). never used to worry about it before covid.

Yes, probably 1/4 of people here wear masks in stores and public spaces. Most often it's the people who work there. Unfortunately it's also very common for them to wear their mask as a chin diaper.

Went to doctor in Fort Lauderdale for the physical to renew my captains license a couple of weeks ago. The doc and the nurses were wearing masks and handing one to everyone that walked in the door.
