Of course.

Must be great being the only person who knows.
Well your guess is as good as mine. The definition changed during this pandemic and different jurisdictions have different defintions. For example a high cycle PCR test for Covid returning a positive is considered an infection when the majority of such cases are asymptomatic I.e. the viral load isn't enough to make someone sick.

What does the PCR measure?

Not necessarily. Again depends on your definition of infection. The PCR test can identify very very very small amounts of genetic material. One molecule amongst billions. Is that an infection?
You are missing something.

Is genetic material scrubbed of the back of the throat an infection? No.

Is it suggestive of an infection if other symptoms are present? Yes.

What's the evidentiary difference?

Then by this definition most of the confirmed Covid cases aren't Covid cases.

How do you measure that? Was the symptom Pneumonia? Was bacteria present?

Regardless by your definition of infection we can slash the total number of cases.
Does bacteria have to be present for pneumonia?

Was it tested for?

By all means, slash case numbers. What does that do for the CFR?
