registrations open for BYC-Mac, an organized and straightforward process

Queens Cup (grand haven this year). ...    Did anyone else struggle like I did with the US Sailing "regatta network" registration process ?     How in todays world anyone made the decision to use that program is a question i'd be interested in knowing the answer to.

Looks like Chicago-Mac is pushing back to march 1 for registrations.      Transition from skiing to sailing is happening way earlier than usual this year!

The thing is CYC didn't go with the same interim guy who's supporting YachtScoring and the BYC Mackinac website.

Clearly whoever CYC chose is struggling more.

Not yet, she's a jigsaw puzzle in Italy at the moment but heading across the atlantic mid-March and going straight to the WORLDWIDE hot-bed of grand prix TP 52 race yachts.... yep, Torressen Marine in Muskegon MI !!
Very cool!  We'll check it out when we get back from the BVIs in April.

Yeah,  it was a bit difficult to navigate.  Not sure what SSYC has against YS but given how much it is used on Lake Michigan, registration would have been a LOT easier if they had used YS.  That being said, this is still a major steopf forward for them. Now if they can figure out how to score the race in a timely fashion we may get them in the 20th century.  I am not under any illusion that they will be up to the 21st century LOL

what are the reasons YOU are a member of LMSRF ?

Paid my dues for years, I do get some super long email blurbs from them but most of it seems unrelated to me.

Nearly certain there's something in there and I understand it's not expensive, i'm just asking myself what the benefits are aside from administering our "areas" and sponsoring some athletes

Dont get all pissed i'm just asking a question.

Eric, calm down.  You're a good guy and fighting PHRF anything is a losing battle.  My favorite was Guy giving himself a 15s boost because 'pros' weren't any longer sailing the boat.   Plus, you bought the wrong boat for trophies, but the right one to have fun!

what reason would I have to fight PHRF ?  I haven't even applied for a rating cert. yet.

My question was about LMSRF as an organization, not phrf, not sure how they interact

He is talking about LMSRF, not PHRF (Midwest PHRF of whatever it is called now).  Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation.  Aside from publicity, I am not entirely sure what their purpose is.

Sorry, my mistake.  You once owned the greatest boat ever built, and I was on a boat against you.  But spent most of my sailing time with your cousin.

For the not in the fraternity.

1Sailor owned Rush...N/M 36 and crazy fast.

I sailed against him on a Pinnacle 29...usually losing.

And also sailed on a Peterson 43 almost always winning.

Hello everyone, thank you to the many sailors who have signed up for Muskegon YC's Safety at Sea Seminar on May 21 and 22.

We still have spots open for the classroom-only Day One, which will take place at Muskegon Country Club. Our hands-on Day Two at MYC has a very short wait list.  Seminar registration closes 5:00pm Friday May 6.  Hope you can make it!

Lady K and they took first in section for Queen's Cup.

Congrats.

Race was a drag race. Two tacks near the finish, started with #2 and quickly changed to #1. Should have stared with the #1 as the wind subsided quickly as we got off shore. Never got enough angle to try out the Asym. Pretty night but not to exciting of a race.

So does anyone else think the "NEW" CYC Mac Race registration system seem a lot more complicated and not as user friendly as the old system? Kinda feel that they should have taken the track that if it isn't broke don't fix it. I understand that Luiz death put some uncertainty in the formula but seems to have a lot of bugs, had to delay registration, and they still don't have scratch sheets up, etc.

I noticed that for CYC Mac Yellowbrick scoring didn't reflect the correct scoring as the race website did.

It worked for BYC flawlessly. CYC didn't have the right people, I know the guy BYC had and he worked hard to make things on their side work better.
