The Dead’s song has been rattling around in my head for days. Then I pull out the top tee shirt on the pile and……

It sure has been a long strange trip.

this one was fun ..... both days. still having flashbacks from that one!!

Yea man, the “mini Wall of Sound” tour. Steve and the crew were wiped out after setting up then tearing down the full-size array that toured the country the following year. The full-size “Wall” array that toured in ‘74 was quite groundbreaking tech in many ways, it was just too big and complex to handle on tour (there were at least two full setups on the tour that alternated stops).

Yep. A landmark experiment in how to sell out major venues twice a week, all across the country, and still lose money.

Kinda want that shirt.. I have a couple dating way back. I think my mom was one of the first to discover the brand back in the 90's, the boulder shop on the mall is cool and I think it is still there. The dudes seem to have their shit together, their vibe is consistent along the lines of the smiley t's of the 70's... Good stuff

Following your lead with the Hawaiian shirt thing since we are doing the snowbird delieo in AZ.. My collection is growing... :).

And Golf. Picked up a set of clubs from a good will type thing here that are carbon. Bag+clubs+driver+balls+tees = $21. (all post 2018) They are dead guys clubs, but yea... LOL

I picked up my clubs same way. Guy checked out right after buying them. Widow just wanted them gone and sold them pretty cheap. Full set of Calloway Big Bertha clubs and bag. I’ve added a few but it was a darn good start.

Before my time. I'd give anything to hear that crystal clear sound. Or so I was told. Frankly I'd give anything to hear him play through a Pignose balanced on a car hood.
My B-day, Jerry Garcia and Merl Saunders @ The Inn Of The Beginning in Cotati. Tiny venue, sweat drippin off the walls.

Beach Boys refused the offer to use at an early day on the green or something and sounded lIke shit. They had a wall of McIntosh solid state amps that went along with it. The first deadheads I met has two of the dual 12” cabs from that wall and a McIntosh amp for use at their house parties in 1980. Jerry used one of the McIntosh amps in his rig along with A quad jbl cab. He used various preamp sections of tube amps but used mainly a fender twin head tapping the preamp section.

The first show I remember going to as a kid was one of the last shows at Giants Stadium. My uncle who was running lights got my family backstage passes for my birthday. Going through general admission towards backstage some old (to me at the time) pointed down at my sister and I and said "whoaaa, rugrats!" During one of Jerry's solos I asked my mom if that was Moses up on stage. One of those vividly foggy memories that was probably more formative than I know.
