Really like that boat ! There’s a similar type of boat being built here in NZ to a dibley design , not out of ply though.

It is strange to see chines in materials that don't need them. I imagine the ones in the "composite" construction are a bit softer than the ply?

I think the chines are for max width and righting Moment not really for the hull material in both those boats
