There were also areas of the bouncy deck with red lines around them marked "No Step" which made foredeck duty interesting. I think it was all 1/8" ply or something.Warbird lived in Cowes in the mid-70s, and competed in the Solent, sometimes spectacularly badly if a wing dug in. My mate Willie Sanderson nicknamed it "The Chocolate Box" due to its dark brown colour and odd shape.
Raced by a bunch of dinghly maniacs, it was extremely lightly built. I remember doing an Island Sailing Club Tuesday night race on it, really out of curiosity. There was a big sign on the companionway: "Go down steps one at a time. Do NOT jump."
