Speaking of battle rifles, my wife's 10-22 started to seem too heavy to her so she bought another 10-22. This one is not a battle gun like the other one, but has a fancy barrel and trigger that's supposed to be better. I'm not good enough to tell the difference.

The one on the right is the battlefield .22, obviously.

Other than a trigger (which can go in both) and the plastic furniture, they are identical...

Obviously!
The barrel on the civilian one is fluted, and that one has an add-on that makes the bolt release when you pull it back, so they're nearly identical. They look different to Congress, the one on the right being a weapon of war to be banned and all...

Bend over and stick it up your ass. Gun nuts should stick it up whatever orifices on their body. F U.

Adults are too stringy. We just kill them for fun.
, except for lawyers.

I just "wing 'em" (shoot them in the ankle, or something non fatal).

Then I stuff them into the bait well of the wolf trap,
, where their howling ( and a bit of blood smell) draws the ones like the sheriff video.

, any wolf i catch gets released into the "rich" neighborhoods.

Then, don’t look at this thread. The people on this thread are responsible gun enthusiasts. I have personally gone to the range with several of them. We all took Safety as the first priority!
I am all about gun safety. I am an excellent shot. As are my children.

We do not drown society with lead.

My 18yo has been invited by his buddy to go duck hunting. I'm planning to send him with my 870 Magnum. I don't know anything about shooting ducks, and neither does he. What loads and what choke do I need to get? This adventure starts Saturday AM, so it's basically whatever I can get from BassPro after work tomorrow.

A modified choke is usually the best for duck. For ducks and geese that are close, improved cylinder or even skeet constriction choke work well. If the birds are farther out, a modified choke tube is better. We used #4 lead shot back in the day, but I believe the lead shot is outlawed in most, if not all places. Because of their metallurgical characteristics, steel and tungsten shot produce tighter groups with a given choke than lead. For instance, if your choke tube is label Improved Cylinder, or IC (standard constriction is usually measured with lead shot, but check with your choke manufacturer), it will perform like a modified choke with steel shot. Likewise, your standard modified lead choke will produce a tighter full pattern with steel. Avoid using full lead chokes with steel shot because the constriction is too tight.

So…….while not a gun aficionado I have always liked the aesthetic of the 357 Colt Python with the 6”barrel. Well, the place I got my Glock and Mossey has them and they’re Cali approved.

Is it any good?

The Colt Python is a great gun, and one of the top .357 double action revolvers out there. Some say the smaller frame S&W Model 19 .357 Combat Magnum is the best for a carry .357 double action revolver, but the heavy frame of the Colt Python, is a larger frame better built gun - I give the nod to the Colt Python, for over 200lb big men.
I was shopping for a .357 revolver because I have a lever action .357 rifle and thought common ammo might be a good thing. I went lower budget and picked up a Taurus medium frame 7 round Tracker in brushed stainless. I have only put 40 or so rounds through it but action and accuracy seem pretty good. We shoot at my brother's outdoor range, 8x8 1/4 inch steel target hanging in front of a steep hill backstop and consistently hit the targets at 40-45 feet. I discovered that revolvers are dirty guns to shoot.

Your wife has excellent taste.

If the barrel is threaded (with the flash hider, it looks like it), you might want to get her a suppressor. They're a lot of fun, and with the hardly noticeable report, you can easily kibitz with friends without everyone having ear pro screwed to their heads. And for a new shooter, having a firearm quieter than a pellet gun is oddly calming.
