I shoot with retired LE, long time shooters, casual shooters, new shooters. We bullshit as much as we shoot (never disregarding safety). We load a mag and hand the weapon to the next shooter "try this". It is not intense range time but it is "get familar" with a variety of weapons time.

So revolvers do get dirtier. No big thang, as a bit of Hoppes and a rag will take care of things very easily.

The gap between the revolver drum and the barrel leaks some propellent around the front of the drum and leaves GSR on the gun. No biggy, you clean the weapon after shooting anyway.

I want you guys to come over and very easily clean my revolver for me.

I've found it's a bit of a pain in the ass if I've been shooting .38 Special but a Royal PITA if I've been shooting .357. Hoppes, Break Free, abrasive cloths, various brushes. Bottom line is I just don't shoot .357 because I don't feel like cleaning up the mess.

Pay special attention to cleaning your cylinder if you shoot a lot of .38spl out of a .357…

Point. Should have said “Relatively Easily”.

Or you could bring your problem child up here and we’ll give it a ride in the ultrasonic cleaner.

The e-Form process was a 90 - 100 day turnaround for about the first 100 days, then straight back to 9-10 months...

9 months and 4 days later the Wolfman is out of jail:

There's a quick 'release key' for an additional $250 (already a $770 can!) plus ~$100/muzzle break... for when I can no longer be bothered by the hassle of screwing it on and off!

Now I need to get a little rattle gun that I've been putting off. First shots tomorrow through my zombie ready Ruger PC Carbine.

What are you using for the cleaning solution? Does it work well on the carbon deposits?

The Hornady cleaning solution. The smell of Simple Green makes me noxious. Seemed to work okay, but carbon deposits still take a bit of elbow grease. It did work really well on my Ethiopian Mauser, entombed in 70 years of grime and neglect.

I haven’t tried it on a blued gun yet, worried about the finish.

Congratulations! Looking forward to the range report.

Maybe the government "workers" will now look to my e-phile. My Wolfman is also for an RPCC, just not nearly as tarted-up as yours. ;) It's a pretty Plain-Jane, Battle-of-the-Bedroom carbine. Light, red-dot and single point sling.

That's nice.

In other threaded attachments news, I got a new assault weapon! Another battlefield .22, this time a SW22 Victory.

I plan to get at least a couple of modified thread protectors based on the ones in the pictures. Also want to get rid of the scary black grip.

I haven't shot it yet but it fits my hand nicely.

I hope you have better luck than this review writer from Palmetto State Armory https://palmettostatearmory.com/s-w-sw22-victory-ss-22lr-pistol-108490.html

I blame it on pandemic house arrest, the internet and a debit card.

I like a more vertical grip, FAB Defense across the board for grips and stocks.

I'm fully quieted now, except for my pistols...

The kid really wants a 1911 in 45 ACP. It hurts a little to shoot but there's something about that gun that makes you go: I gotta get me one of these!

and a Walther PDP 5" 9mm... The grip on that gun is so dreamy for me.

I have to stock up before the new gun laws here in OR get sorted out, me likey the top one!

Question is: Add a 9MM rattle gun, glock mag ready with a brace or a SBR upper in 300 BO which adds another class of ammo but it slaps onto my nicely pimped out M&P 15 lower...

Man, those late night, post-nightcap, forays into internet gun shops... One week later: Why the heck did I think THIS was a good idea??? ;)

Look at the Smith and Wesson SW1911 Series E. https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/sw1911-e-series Its external extractor is just the Double Ds. The original pattern 1911s have the internal extractor, a 3.5" thin sliver of spring steel, which is the Eleventy's only major weakness.

I've got the SW1911 Series D. More than 3k rounds in Wild Bunch competitions and practices, and it has never failed me where I didn't fail it first. It's also way more accurate than I am.

Have your kid also look at the CZ 75 series.

I broke with tradition and read the owners manual. It mentioned cycling problems if you don't let the trigger go fully forward between shots. I wonder if that guy's technique was a problem?

My wife and I had it out this afternoon and it shoots great. I had some CCI Stinger ammo and then a tupperware of floor sweepings. Just whatever leftovers of whatever ammo was cheapest way back when. At least three different flavors of cheap junk .22. It did fine with all of them.

It is great that there is not a problem.
