Porthpean is correct. If it has been in this thread before, sorry, however I'm not going to check back over 300+ pages. The word doesn't turn up in a thread search. I was concerned it was a slightly obscure choice, evidently not.
The picture with two Mirrors brings back memories. At age maybe 16, a school friend took me sailing in one from Porthpean. I could not sail and it turned out, his knowledge of how to rig the boat was also sketchy. For some reason, this did not put me off and we sailed cheerfully and alone for several miles along the mostly unlandable coast. Swallows and Amazons stuff. Were not duffers, did not drown. I'm not sure today, knowing what I know, I could recommend it to two teenagers who could barely sail but I loved it.

Yes it is Olton Mere SC in Birmingham. I assume the rib is there so the race officer can make a speedy getaway after calling the ilca fleet ocs again. Although those ILCA types do seem to like being ocs.

It's all over! No racing on the final day with just 3.6kn average on the racecourse. We have already had three great days training and racing together with sun and medium/light breezes.

The club is Siglingaklúbburinn Nökkvi (Nökkvi Sailing Club) on the north coast of Iceland at Akureyri. The new club house there was completed in 2021. It was the first international sailing regatta in Iceland for 25 years! An interesting event (made possible by a shared fleet of charter RS Aeros) and a great trip. We look forward to returning.
