"Soft goods" Not sure what you mean. This particular boat has all new standing and running rigging and nearly all new sails, upwind inventory is new.
thank you. and that's just what I meant, and I had no idea it was all new. my goodness.

I suppose it's not exactly an epiphany. but it occurs to me that a sailboat is composed of both hardware and software. The software is the stuff you need to regularly upgrade.

I read a story by a barista in some coffee joint, who said that this pleasant, down-to-earth regular customer, who was consistently friendly to the staff and a good tipper, was a strikingly beautiful older woman. One day, he said, "I'll bet you get a lot of people thinking that you're Helen Mirren." She laughed and said, "well, given that I am Helen Mirren, yes."
Reminds me of a story about the Queen.

She was having a cuppa alone in a tea shop near Balmoral when she was approached by a couple of older women. One of them said "do you know you look just like the Queen?"

She replied "How very reassuring". :ROFLMAO:

also kind of remarkable: @psycho tiller
Hey thanks for the free PR @floater ! Admittedly, we have it priced a bit high right now. Happy to discuss fair market value with anyone interested. Hate to let her go, while I may be slightly biased I think it's a really special boat and without a doubt the best boat we've ever owned. Just not finding the time to use it enough to justify keeping it. Once life gets less busy again we'll get another JPK, no question. Maybe even buy it back from whoever buys it from us! :) If anyone is interested or knows of anyone please send them my way.

The Riptide 30 is about ready to launch if it hasn't been already and shipped off to the owner around Chicago(?).

The last of the Carbon Cutters is lumbering along without the pressure of a completion date seeing as how most owners might be more or less satisfied with 3 identical sisters already delivered...

The Wylie 60 was in paint last time I checked, before the snows of December.

The large cruising boat is coming right along.

The carbon catamaran higher-tech "Duffy" is sputtering along.

Several smaller projects scattered around the buildings.

This is all reminding me... I need to pop in and check out what's up.
Is the titanium catamaran still taking up shop space?

Mischief was the boat back in the day (and yes, a lot of fun was had. Thanks again, Carolyn) but in the process of racking up all the good times and the hardware it got some hard use and that prod looks scary. I'd go for the SD one, especially for SoCal racing. It would still be a great PHRF boat (and staying with OD configuration makes random rating changes less likely)

I would pass on the 2001 vintage #2 genoa for $3500, however.

here's the weird part about the concordia. Says Kent NY which is in Putnam County about 20 min from me. If the boat was raced on LIS I'd know and I dont know this boat , nor do I see a current or past phrf certificate for it. As a matter of fact I see no base rating for it either ...so it was either not raced or the boat is from further away than the owner who lives in Kent NY

Still looks like a good boat
Great. Now you got our curiosity wet. We need is satiated. Ask your wife/GF/BF/whatever to borrow the Honda and skeedaddle over to Kent and give us the skinny.

Except the Kent NY whereabout dacapo resides is about 350 miles from the Kent NY where the Concordia is.
Google Maps say it is almost a 6 hour drive each way. It would make for a pretty long day.

So this thread prompts the question; is anything selling right now or have the interest rates etc just put everyone in hold mode for the winter?

I doubt it has helped.

My feeling is that any boat under $20k is going to be paid cash, so interest rates aren't that important. As examples, the Concordia 33 has disappeared from SA classifieds - the day after they lowered the price by $1k oddly enough.

A couple of MORC 30's have sold. Invincible was on here for less than a week at $16.5k and Flak sold quickly once they reduced the ask to under $20k ($17.5k)

So anything that will likely need bank financing say $20k-$200k and especially with longer terms is probably more difficult to move at the moment.

The Concordia had a good price/length ratio. But otherwise I really didn't get that boat. The brand nostalgia goes a long way for some people...
