Used to be known for duck, but not so much anymore I don't think. I am not really sure there is a particular dish. There really aren't even that many seafood places . . . a few out on the east end.

Geographically, Brooklyn is part of Long Island, although culturally, when people say "Long Island", they mean the parts of Long Island outside of the NYC city limits. Brooklyn has plenty of indigenous food, if you're willing to allow that.
I'd have to say Long Island doesnt really have much of its own local food culture - although from time to time you still see 'long island duck' on menus from time to time. Long Island does have a pizza parlor, deli and chinese take out in every single strip mall....and the pizza is damn good. One of the few places left in the metro area that you are not directly contributing to al qaeda when ordering a slice (although it may be going to the mafia... )

Once we took my old boat to Montauk, which is the sport fishing capital of Long Island. Got a slip at Star Island Marina. We were the only sailboat on the dock. Leathery-skinned guys with the gold chains nestled in their chest hair and leathery-skinned girls with big hair and fake boobs, walking by and wondering where we kept the fishing poles. Guys butchering fish up and down the dock.
Next morning I go to pay the marina bill. There's photos of fish, people and sportfishing boats under glass on the counter. Then I notice one of them. It's of a guy in the cockpit of some big Hatteras, buck-ass naked, with a wild look in his eye, having sex with a tuna. That's right, a guy fucking a fish.
So you ask about unique Long Island dishes... how about yellowfin sushi with special sauce?

My elder relatives who grew up in Brooklyn and Queens have a fit when I include either as part of Long Island. Not sure why except that they are proud to be able to say they grew up in NYC. I actually include both counties now just to piss them off.
In any evetn, if you are willing to allow Brooklyn and Queens as part of Long Island the food culture is literally limitless.
