My elder relatives who grew up in Brooklyn and Queens have a fit when I include either as part of Long Island. Not sure why except that they are proud to be able to say they grew up in NYC. I actually include both counties now just to piss them off.There. Geographically, Brooklyn is part of Long Island, although culturally, when people say "Long Island", they mean the parts of Long Island outside of the NYC city limits. Brooklyn has plenty of indigenous food, if you're willing to allow that.
No, its the surf casting capital of the world.Once we took my old boat to Montauk, which is the sport fishing capital of Long Island.
That was my first and last visit to Montauk. The harbor was wall-to-wall Hatterases, Cabos, and Bertrams. If there is a place in Long Island with more of those things, and the guys who own them, and their skanky women, I'd like to know about it, so I can stay away. No, its the surf casting capital of the world.Once we took my old boat to Montauk, which is the sport fishing capital of Long Island.
Not sport fishing.
If not Montauk, what would you consider the sport fishing capital of LI?No, its the surf casting capital of the world.Once we took my old boat to Montauk, which is the sport fishing capital of Long Island.
