Wrecked with a twist

A good few years ago a drug smuggling group got into difficulty in the same area. It seems they had put petrol in the tanks of their diesel RIB (or maybe the other way round). In any even they had to call for help and the authorities were happy to relieve them of numerous bales of cocaine.
A few days later a suspicious object washed up near the pier in Schull - another bale. Police and customs everywhere with sirens blaring and hi vis jackets as far as the eye could see.
Everyone ordered fish that night for some reason!

Diesel in a gas/petrol engine doesn’t take too long to screw the motor. You can go a good way with gas in a diesel motor amd will cause damage, but not wreck the motor.

By the way, what are you talking about? Something from the Front Page? I remember square groupers floating around in the FL Keys occasionally after they were ditched at sea…

One year sailing in the Gulf Stream my sharp eyed crew spotted a school of square groupers

he insisted that we haul a few onboard then tear them apart because …sometimes cash is buried in the stomach of the square grouper ..,WHAT A STINKY FOUL MESS..rotten dope and seeds allover the place…and no cash

don’t mess with square groupers

There is a surf break in Guanacaste called ”Ollie’s Point” named for the nearby clandestine airstrip where Ronnie and Ollie used to run their little drugs for guns deals. The locals have a (possibly apocryphal) story about local boys being hired to help transfer the unlabeled materials from the planes to trucks & vice verse. One day some sacks of “white powder” fell off a truck and burst open. The boys instantly recognized what it must be and took it off to mark the lines on their baseball field!
