Don't assume that the amount you pull out is the right amount to put back in. Check the dipstick before the oil change. If it's on the money, then you can put back in what you pulled out.I’m getting ready to do my first oil filter change on a Yanmar 2YM15.
Is it as simple as checking to make sure the level is correct, then sucking the old oil put through the dipstick tube and putting back an equal amount?
Ah, didn't get that. I thought you were using one of those oil suckers that uses a straw that goes down the dipstick tube. The oil change instructions in the owners manual seems to indicate that you just connect the oil suction tube to the dipstick tube itself, not a dip tube that goes inside the dipstick tube. This would assume that the dipstick tube goes to or near to the bottom of the oil pan. Anybody know?
