Boys, I was on the Sedov in 2003, from Emden (north Germany) to Douarnenez (Brittany/France). Amazing trip, very nice experience with all those young guns. What you might have noticed is the shoes they wear and the poor security belts. Still, they climb up their masts and got all my respect. I climbed to the first level, about 18m above deck, and already this was frightening.

How would the trip be for a non russian speaker ? I only speak english.

The largest square rigger that I have sailed was the US Coast Guard's Eagle. The Sedov three times the tonnage. And about 12 meters higher.
