Young 88 information

I have just bought a Young 88 (now named Tow Truck) mainly for twilight racing with family & friends but a few regattas now & then.

I have been searching the net & SA for information about them. I have found some info on them but was hopping there are some Young 88 owners & crews out there in SA world that would share there Young 88 go fast secrets. Any information about them good or bad can always help.

Get on the kiwi website www.crew.org.nz Plenty of 88s here as you might expect. A few crew.orgers post on SA too

You should also be able to get the polars for the Y88 off North Sails or similar sailmaker in New Zealand...

a few Y88s have ORCi certs - which can give you a fee l of how they are set up.

I have just bought a Young 88

Congratulations, they are great boats. I have now owned an 88 (hull 119) for 30 years. Bought it as hull and decks and finished it off in 14 months. I class raced it hard for 15 years but now it is very much a cruising 88, furler, dodger etc. It is the perfect cruiser for the wife and myself. In fact it was through the 88 that I met my wife, she was crewing with a ladies crew that were racing my boat.

Enjoy the boat.
